For starters, I think Murphy’s Loft should update their “overview” on google – as they no longer offer a seasonal pool. Kind of a bummer, because that’s what initially drew me to the business. Sounds awesome to have a pool – with bar and food all at one place. Definitely unique too!

Regardless, my husband and I decided to try it out. I think they really struggled with time management. Below is the breakdown of the night. Some of these times are just really surprising… you wouldn’t think it would take 20 minutes to get drinks? An hour for an appetizer to come out? Dinner – 1 and ½ hours after arriving.

6:30PM – seated 6:45PM - placed order 6:50PM – drinks 7PM – soup 7:33PM – appetizer 7:56PM – meals

When we arrived – they gave us the option to sit inside or outside. We went in the beginning of July. We thought it would be nice to sit outside – it was very humid though. Even on the patio – with fans. We sat in the covered patio section – it might be better to sit entirely outside for some fresh air/better airflow.

Alternatively, you may want to eat inside? Maybe the service was better inside. It didn’t seem like there were that many people outside (maybe 4 tables) but the parking lot was practically full when we arrived – and when we left, it was dead.

There was actually another table outside that told the waitress that he felt like his table was being ignored and was questioning why their food was taking so long (so we weren’t the only ones!)

We were patient. We didn’t say anything about the wait but our waitress came over and apologized about the wait at least 3x (which was nice.. but it doesn’t change anything about the experience).

If anything, maybe the business should offer a drink on the house or something to “make up for it.” Another cold drink, would’ve made the hot wait - more bearable.

My drink and soup were both good. I got the Turkey and Stuffing dinner – advertised as hand carved turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy. At first glance, the meal looked good. I was excited when cranberry sauce came out with it too (“all the works”).

The waitress asked how we were – and we said good. It wasn’t until I moved the turkey off my stuffing, that I realized there was no mashed potatoes! (Bummer). My husband didn’t want me to say anything because we had already waited so long… by the time they’d come out – we’d already be done eating and/or gone.

In general – I think waitresses should also come back a second time to see how the food actually tastes. Often, waitresses ask how everything is before you get a chance to actually try it.

Took a while for box and check to come out too.

Overall, not a great experience. The turkey didn’t taste the best but everything else was good. I’d like to give them a second chance.. I just don’t know if my husband can be convinced.

Pros: outdoor dining, weekly specials/events. Cons: long wait times,...

My girlfriend and I stopped here as we were driving through the area. We couldnt tell if the place was open or not and we almost left at the front door. We wished we would have later on.

Well we go in and sit down and our table is sticky like it wasn't cleaned properly. The table next to ours had empty plates and glasses on it for about 15 minutes. Id rather not stare at someones half eaten food while we try and eat but i could get over it.

The menu is strange. It has a bizarre layout and the items have no description. It looks like a menu from a bad pizzeria. And the pricing is equally as bizarre. 10 wings? $12. A footlong meatball sub? $6. It was all over the place.

My girl ordered a prime rib sandwich with au jus and i ordered the "house special", a prime rib sandwich with onions and mushrooms. When she got hers, it wasn't a sandwich at all. It was a hoagie with a cup of au jus next to it. The sauce wasn't bad but she didn't like the meat at all. I tasted it and it had no taste at all.

My sandwich came out and it was an actual piece of steak on a bun with lettuce and tomato on it with mushrooms and onions. I just assumed it would be sliced up but the meat was actually very tender and cooked well, so it wasn't as big of a problem as i at first thought. The issue is that the thing had no flavor at all. The steak wasn't seasoned at all and the mushrooms and onions weren't cooked properly. They were still crunchy with absolutely no seasoning. Maybe they microwaved them? I dont know. The sandwich was dying for some kind of sauce or seasoning or something. It was a piece of steak on a bun with raw onions and mushrooms with lettuce and tomato for like $17. The only saving grace was that the frozen french fries were very crunchy and delicious.

Overall, id avoid this joint. We'd never go back. Dirty tables, dirty dishes, and just plain out overpriced bland...

Our visit to Murphy’s Loft in the Poconos was nothing short of extraordinary. As first-time guests, we were eager to explore the menu, and we were not disappointed. We ordered a delightful array of dishes: the fish sandwich, Cajun chicken, steamed little neck clams, mozzarella sticks, veggie flatbread, and a refreshing set of sangria. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece. The fish sandwich was perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and tender, flavorful fish inside. The Cajun chicken was a standout, seasoned to perfection with a spicy kick that was balanced beautifully by its sides. The steamed little neck clams were fresh and succulent, a true testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality seafood. The mozzarella sticks were gooey and delicious, a classic comfort food done right. The veggie flatbread was a fresh and healthy option, bursting with flavors from the garden. The sangria was the perfect accompaniment to our meal, fruity and refreshing, making it a perfect choice for a relaxing evening. A special shoutout goes to Emma, our server. She was incredibly sweet and accommodating, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. Her warm and attentive service made us feel right at home. Our first visit to Murphy’s Loft was truly memorable, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. This gem in the Poconos has certainly earned our highest recommendation!
