My husband and I were excited about the menu because it had so many dishes to offer that other Mexican restaurants didnât. We went about 2 oâclock in the afternoon after the lunch rush. There were just a few tables in the restaurant. The server brought out my food first, at first bite, the food was cold! I waited at least five minutes for someone to come by so I can get it heated. I told the waitress not to have them make it over just heat it up that would be fine. Meanwhile, my husband still never got his food.It was several minutes and my plate was brought out to me, which I must say, looked absolutely delicious, but it was barely lukewarm this time. I like my food hot. Meanwhile, my husband is still waiting for his food and asked at least four times for more salsa so he could enjoy the chips while waiting for his food. Never got it. I was done with my plate by the time his food came out the steak was so tough. It was like shoe leather and he couldnât get a knife through it. I told the waitress to just get him something else knowing this was gonna take another 15 or 20 minutes. Yes it did take another 20 minutes and it came out lukewarm. It was so disappointing because there was so many items on the menu. We wanted to come back and try. I donât know what the issue was since like I said there were just a few tables in there. Also, there was never a manager visible at any time the hour and a half we were there. The waitress was very sweet, but we had to ask her several times for...
Read moreI was passing through tupelo on the highway and desperate for a vegetable. I decided to take a chance on a left turn up the exit even though there was nothing on the highway food sign. I had secretly been craving Mexican but didn't expect to find anything in small town Mississippi. The first clue that I had made the right choice was in the fact that I could not understand what the host was trying to ask me. The second clue was the spicy salsa. By the time I had made it to the vegetarian quesadilla and the margarita, I was in a small slice of heaven. It was not as good as Taos New Mexico, but it still renewed my faith and humanity. I guess that's why the place was packed at 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon. That's usually a good sign. If you find yourself on the highway passing through tupelo, it's worth a stop. The concrete floor and Barn atmosphere make it a little bit loud but...
Read moreWell, where to start? We went in around 1:40pm this past Saturday. It wasnât really busy but a few folks were there.
We asked for a booth (easier with out 4 year old) and were denied even though there were at least 12 available booths.
Got seated and waited just a few minutes before the âsalsaâ and chips arrived. It was horrible. The salsa was like whatâs left on the walls of the salsa container, added water, shook it up and served itâŠ..watery consistency, no flavor at all, even with salt.
Now itâs been about 10-15 minutes after we were seated and no waitress. Weâve seen her 3 times, taking care of tables around us but we were never acknowledged.
My wife and I gave it about 8-10 minutes longer and then got up and walked out. No one acknowledged us as we left, walking by numerous employees and hostess...
