After reading all the good reviews, I figured it would be a nice 2 hour ride to get some great food. Thank god the weather was the best day of the year bc the food fell way short. First, I started with the broiled crab stuffed shrimp. You get 2 for $13. I wouldn't mind only 2 if they used Jumbo shrimp. The one had barely any shrimp at all and the other was better but at best a large shrimp that was fileted very thin. They were good but they should come with tarter sauce, not cocktail sauce and any chef worth anything should know that. Now onto the main course. I got the Wet Aged CAB Delmonico 14oz. I have no problem paying $49 for a steak. I pay $120 every year for filet and lobster tail when I go to Steak on the Main in Northeast, MD so money isn't an issue. But it if I'm paying $49, especially in Turbotville of all places, it better be a great steak. And as it turned out, it wasn't. It had absolutely no taste at all. It wasn't seasoned at all, had no great sear taste, and even after adding salt several times it just didn't help. I got it with the loaded baked potato. This is where I knew things were bad. If you can't even get a potato right there's a real problem. The melted cheese was cold and hard as if the potato was made then left to sit on the counter for 15 minutes. The potato was also cold inside along with the bacon pieces which were not even cooked bacon. All in all, a very disappointing experience. However, I will try it a second time as I always give places 2 chances and being a big food critic on social media, I want places like this to be great and succeed for many years. They just missed the mark terribly.
Thank you for your response. I would like to come back a second time. But it seems you put a little dig in your response back to me about all my reviews being under 2 stars which is not true as I just gave the Little Brown Barrel 3 stars. Also, I only recently started doing reviews on google. If you look at my google reviews I believe I only reviewed 3 restaurants total which includes yours. I normally do my reviews on Yelp and if you look on there, I give places 4-5 star reviews but now I do both Yelp and Google. I been cooking since I was 5 years old and I cook every single day of my life. About 10 years ago I started cooking only fresh food and no longer cook frozen food bc the difference is night and day. I'm sorry for the bad review but I think I'm pretty spot on with my reviews as I have gotten tons of responses from people saying they looked at my reviews before going and I was right on after they went to...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting. First off...it's like sitting in your grandma's living room at night with how dark it is, even The Cheesecake Factory is a brighter place. In fact, it was so dark and the font on the menu was so small that we didn't realize there was an upcharge for tots. Second, they need to work on their burger temps and toppings. Our party ordered 3 burgers: medium rare, medium, and medium well, and all burgers were dry, overcooked, and over dressed in condiment. Even the tots were overcooked. Third, everything was overpriced. We paid $93 for a pretzel, water, 2 sodas, and three overcooked burgers with tots. Fourth is the service. We called ahead before arriving asking if it was busy and if they had wait time, the phone interaction was pleasant. When we got there, the hostess was on the phone and sat us while still on the phone. And apparently after seating us failed to let anyone know that they had a table to be served. We sat there for a good couple of minutes before the hostess came back saw we weren't being waited on and went to get our server, then comes back feeds us a line bout dealing with a customer with a "nut allergy" and got side tracked. The waitress then shows up and apologized then says she never was told she had a table. It was just unprofessional on both of their ends. After we got our drinks, we asked our waitress for straws and she madea weird face and walks away. She comes back and says "here ya go don't tell anyone you got them from me because we are not allowed to hand these out." That is so bizarrely weird!!!! Look if you don't want us to have straws just say so!!!! Don't make us feel weird for your weird rule!!! The experience was very subpar...I would be opened minded and give them a second chance but this first time doesn't bode well for...
Read moreSat. 5/6/23 was the first time I had dinner at Turbotville Public house while visiting my sis & bro-in-law who live close to the restaurant. They highly recommended it, and I wanted to treat them to dinner for their 45 yr. Anniversary. I must say it was the best meal I have had in a long time. I had the colossal haddock dinner with a side of Cole slaw & tater tots. The portions were large, reasonably priced and most important were delicious! I had a peach sour as my drink after reading reviews about it online, and they were right. It was very good! My sis also had haddock, tater tots & side of fried Brussel sprouts. She loved her meal also & adored the delicious Brussel sprouts! My bro in law had the cheesesteak hoagie & tater tots. He said it was the best he ever had. We were shocked my how big it was. Lol. I wish I remember our servers name. She was outstanding & a great asset to this fabulous restaurant. She had long blond hair. Best server from any place I have been to. Attentive but did not hover & was very pleasant. We were also greater by a very nice hostess. The ambiance of the place was very inviting & tastefully decorated. We ate inside, but on my next visit, we plan on eating at the outdoor patio, which looked beautiful ! I rarely leave reviews but had to about this hidden gem. I will definitely be back every time I visit the area ! Thank you for great service &...
