The time was 5:40 pm when I pulled up to Tony's. There was not much movement in Turkey, TX when I drove through. Most stores were closed but there were two pick-ups parked in front of the cafe. I was hungry. I pulled up to the curb, got out, and went inside. The owner and his wife were sitting at a table inside. There were no others dining at this time. They warmly welcomed me, offered a drink and took my order. I wasn't hungry so ordered a cheeseburger and fries. While waiting for my meal, I looked around the restaurant and observed the art on the walls, the encouraging quotes including "eat-pray-love". My meal was brought out, hot and delicious. The fries were wonderful, crispy! They use chopped lettuce. But they make it as ordered. Portion size was just right, not too much. I dislike huge plates of food. Another couple came in and sat next to the window. Some of tables seated 6-8 so I thought that the restaurant must get some good business. Service was excellent and cost....well, it is what it is. Everything cost a bit more these days and Tony's is about the same as many others along the road. ...
