Always love to try a new Mexican restaurant!! As you can see in the picture this is how they bring salsa out. Not always having to ask for more and more. Just pour it yourself since they set the whole things on the table. Queso was very very good and I’ve never had it with bread brought out but that’s how they do it and it’s great. Salsa is definitely spicy. I love spicy salsa but this was up there in spice and flavor. We tried the chicken fajitas, a cheese enchilada, chicken tacos with a corn and a flour tortilla. We also got a steak taco with corn tortilla and queso fresca. We also got besitos. All the food was excellent. I had never had besitos before anywhere and was pleasantly surprised. Great flavor and crisp top. Enchilada was a cheese one with queso and it was thick cheese inside and very very good. Fajitas were amazing and that’s the main thing I get at any Mexican restaurant to try. All the tacos were great. Service was great as well. Very friendly waitress and other staff. When our cups were half full they were filling them up. Food brought out in a timely manner and had welcomes coming in and thanks going out by staff. Very friendly atmosphere and tons of decorations to look at all around while sitting there. There are 2 locations in Tyler as I know and this one is the one that doesn’t serve alcohol. The other one does. I don’t drink so I’m sure either is fine to go to. Definitely recommend trying this place if you are looking for Tex mex but a little different style than your usual brands of restaurants you see...
Read moreOkay, so I hit up Don Juan Mexican Restaurant in Tyler, and honestly, I was really impressed. The fajitas? Seriously good. Like, really good. The meat was tender, seasoned perfectly, and you could tell it was cooked right. But the real MVPs were the chips and salsa. Forget those bland, bagged chips you get at some places. These were fresh, crispy, and the salsa? Wow. It had that perfect kick, and you could tell it wasn't just some jarred stuff. It felt like they actually cared about the little things. The whole vibe of the place was chill and welcoming, and the people working there were super nice. If you're craving some real Mexican food, you gotta try Don Juan. It's the kind of place where you leave feeling full and happy, and you're already planning your next visit. Seriously, those chips and salsa alone are...
Read moreI walked in on a Saturday night because I have been told that the food and service was amazing. I came in by myself and was told I can go sit out the bar. There were two servers there that both saw I had not been attended to niether one spoke to me for about 15 or 20 minutes. Until I finally had to ask them could I order food. Once one of the guys finally decided to take my order I told him I would like the fajitas for 1. I decided I would like all three meats that they offer chicken steak and shrimp when my food arrive it was only chicken and shrimp. I also ask for more tortillas and yet again the server forgot about me and never brought them. I was never given a refill or anything. This place use to be one of my goto places in tyler when I was in college but I’ll never go back after that...
