Phoenicia Resto & Lounge — Restaurant in Tysons

Pre-COVID, we have been here many times and finally stopped going because every time we experience horrible service. The last two times we went, we caught the restaurant/server adding false charges to our bill (charging us for a more expensive wine or cocktail than ordered and adding items that we didn't order or receive to the bill). Finally we stopped coming realizing that although the food is delicious, the business is shady, unethical and poorly managed.

During COVID - we were craving the food and figured take out would be ok since we know the food is good and the service was the problem. I placed an order for pick up that was to be ready by 7:05. Upon arriving, the food was not ready so I waited patiently. While waiting I noted that the wait staff and the kitchen workers were not wearing masks or gloves. In the upstairs kitchen where I was told to wait, I watched as one of the women from the kitchen came out to the grill, rubbed her nose then touched food, plated it and the waitress took it to a table! Staff would put a mask on when they went to tables but had no regard for keeping a mask on around the food, their co workers or those of us waiting for take out. The food wasn't ready until 7:50, there was no apologies, and when asking why so many employees weren't wearing masks, I was attacked by the manager and told I was rude for asking that.. (Umm what..?)

We will NOT be returning here, I will ensure family and friends do not support this business and have reported them...

We’ve been regular customers celebrating quite a few birthdays at this restaurant and what they did yesterday- bypassed any standard of customer service, professionalism and overall human honesty. We were a Group of about 15 women, again celebrating a birthday. The price (they claim Is fixed) somehow fluctuates every time you make a Reservation, this time they claimed it was 45$ per person (last time a few months back it was 40$), plus automatically included gratuity and taxes bringing it to 55$ per person. Which was a “discount” to us, as they claimed. We barely ordered any food or drinks, they cheated us on a 4-person platters not bringing it for the last late arrivals (4-people). Horrible service, lack of any attention. We asked for a check to pay and leave and had to wait for 45 minutes to figure out the waitress has not even looked into processing the payment until we walked up to her to demand our credit cards (thrown unattended near the cash register). After inquiring what is going on and why is it so complicated to pay and leave the waitress was rude enough to answer “You can leave, I will pay for you”. After a lot of back and forth, we spent a total of 1,5h trying to PAY, it was so disorganized, overpacked and underserved. Well, you may care less, dear owner, as you clearly rip off your own country-men, but you definitely lost clients of big parties and you have to remember, the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT. If you...

We went here for lunch around 1pm. The restaurant was not very busy. We waited only a minute to be seated by the manager who asked us if we wanted the buffet or the regular menu. We opted for the regular menu. After about 15 minutes he came back to take our order, which was a little bit long considering we were just sitting there waiting for someone to come and take our order. Regardless, we ordered kafta as an appetizer and we each ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich. The appetizer being a flatbread took quite some time to come nearly 20 minutes. After finishing our appetizer, which was delicious, our food came only a few minutes later. The shawarma sandwich was very good, the chicken juicy and flavorful, the seasonings exactly as I come to expect from good Lebanese food. My only complaint about this restaurant is the speed of service. I was on a work lunch and therefore didn't have an hour and a half to spare just to dine. That being said, the restaurant is nice and clean and has great atmosphere. The food that we ordered was above our expectations, despite taking a long time, it arrived fresh and hot. I will definitely come back again, as I love Lebanese food and this place is great. 1 star knocked off for the service, the atmosphere, prices, and quality of the food of this restaurant is more than enough to keep you...
