My personal absolute favorite! Between the two " chili " places known in Cincinnati. Just like the competition, they could stand to add more chili to each " dish " or item you have ordered.
Their cheese is SO good. Everything is good! Prices have gotten TOO high! They think as a company they are making more money by doing what they have done and that may be the case but in reality they would be making even more than they are now if it weren't as expensive as it has gotten. Why? Because people like me would come much more often like use to do rather than just every once in a while!
When people come more often, more $ is made. They increased prices so much that yes they make more money when we come once every 4 months or longer. But that little bit gained each time would be a lot more bc we would come probably then at least once a month. So instead of maybe only getting food here a 3-4 times a year, we would instead go 8-12 times or more each year and that is more money there! So it would be nice to see a little bit of a change
It's an absolute must to try the chili cheese fries! The chilli spaghetti is the best ground! Cheese coneys are classic! Also something newer, the hamburgers they have, my nephew loves!!!! I recommend that as well. If your in Cincinnati, try gold star!
Editing 6/8/24 for a dining in experience AND a drive-thru experience today with my mom & son. My son did not want to go in, went through drive thru. Service was quick and his food was great! My mom & I went inside and ate. The server was very nice and made everything exactly how I asked for it. The chili cheese fries were great and crunchy and my 5 way had the extra chili requested. We were in and out in no time. Thanks again for the...
Read moreGoto this one out of convenience all the time. They generally mess up my order even after repeating it correctly back to me two or three times. Finally had enough and called to ask how to get my order ordered correct next time. The shift leader was extremely annoyed and would not let me speak but ended up giving me my credit after I got rude and loud. Went back today to get my credit and the girl acted like I was speaking a foreign language when I told her I had a credit. She got the manager (same one who messed up my original order) and he found it in the book but proceeded to scald me telling me that because I didn't mention the credit first that he had to void it and it looks like theft when he has to do it..blah blah blah. Not once did any one of them apologize and in fact I said sorry because I felt like I was in the wrong the whole time with the way they acted. I've had years of food management before and if I had ever handled the situation like that I surely would of been told to clock out. I understand things get messed up especially when I am picky but messing up more than 75 percent of the time even when you repeat it back to me correctly and then acting like I am asking for the world the first time I finally get vocal about this recurring issue. I would rather go through the hassle to deal with the Gold Star in the mall or all the traffic on Beechmont before going the 2 miles to this one and have to deal with the staff and probably an incorrect order. In addition, please learn to fully cook...
Read moreFood is standard GS fare. I do prefer GS over Skyline, primarily cause growing up as a kid GS was closer to us being an hour away from Cinci and that's where our grandparents would occasionally take us. Living where I am now and my wife preferring Skyline, GS is a rare treat for me. Staff is always friendly.
Only 3 stars cause of their Bengals win BOGO Mondays. Almost 3 weeks ago I figured I best try it woth the season almost over. I hadn't been there since they switched to the rectangle, instead of oval, takeout 3-way containers. Thought they were being light due to BOGO, so I weighed the contents. I went back several days later and saw it was still rectangle containers, so maybe I was just being paranoid. When I got home I figured, why not go ahead and weigh it. Sure enough there was about 50 grams more in the non-BOGO. Ridiculous. If the BOGOs were not within a gram or two of each other, then maybe I would chalk it up as a mistake, but as close as they were it's as if they were measured or weighed. Won't be going out of my way anymore, will just deal with Skyline.
I understand that this is normal business practice, like stores that do clearance and other sales after marking all prices up. It's just...
