Amar Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Unionville

Coming to the US from India in 2014 and moving to Tifton since 2016, I’ve been craving an Indian restaurant in Tifton for the longest time. I heard about Amar and I was excited. Ambiance is fine. When I wanted to take my team out to lunch, they said they couldn’t accommodate 11 of us since they were low on bandwidth. Which is fine. However, I went alone on 12/19/23 at 11:20 AM. Considering they open up at 11, one would think they have hot food. But I was so disappointed. They had a $17 lunch buffet. Salad bar was droll, vegetable biriyani looked like it was a few days old as the rice and veggies looked dried out. The tandoori chicken was cold and tasted and smelled like it was rotting. I let the host know about this and she went back and checked at the back. She actually came back and turned up the heat. I had to put the chicken away cause it really put me off. The chicken curry was also cold. Saag paneer had barely any paneer. I was able to scrape up 2-3 pieces. The only fresh food was the white rice and the naans. Overall not impressed. Left very...

1. Food- we ordered paneer methi malai and daal tadka. Both were excellent albeit a bit spicy, so if you are not used to spicy food ask for mild. The naan was excellent- thin, crisp and chewy at the same time. Paneer cubes itself was very soft 10/10 for that! The paneer gravy was absolutely fresh tasting and delicious. The daal was light and homemade style. The food is very reminiscent of “dhaba” style food. Which I miss sorely in the US. All in all very authentic Punjabi style food❤️
2. service- the lady and gentleman greeted us with a smile. Very courteous and responsive.
3. atmosphere- it is clean and neat. We saw mostly families in there. There were some trucks also parked. All in all we really enjoyed our food and our experience. Will definitely stop on our travels to Florida again. Highly recommend if looking for authentic North Indian style grub if food...
