After not eating charged this the night before the night before, I was charged $0.70 for cream. I pointed out that the price board showed that you're only to be charged of $0.70 for non-dairy cream which this was not. Why you would have this price difference in the first place I don't know. It only serves to alienate lactose intolerant customers. There's no real price difference between dairy and non-dairy cream. But in any event, The printed and posted clearly implied that there was not to be a charge for dairy cream. I pointed this out to the staff and they told me that they would talk to the owner. My assumption would be they talk to him and let me know as soon as possible. They never got back to me. Furthermore, I was trying to read and basically couldn't because people who appear to be staff members and/or management are having a very loud conversation in back which is too distracting to read. I'm going to have to leave. Not a good experience. I doubt I'll ever come back.I hope it was worth...
Read moreI've grown up by this store and I have loved it even before the renovations. It's so sweet and calm it's wonderful. It's so pretty and clean, I love that it smells clean and not just like coffee grounds or books. Plus there was one time I didn't know about the no pets rule and I had my cat in a backpack after we got done with a hike on the nature trail next door and the girl at the corner just cooed over him and made sure we both had a little something. Once we sat down at a booth she came and let us know that we technically can't have pets there but since he's well behaved she'd let it slide this time and we both laughed. I'll make sure not to bring him next time and I really appreciated that she didn't just immediately shoo us away and ruin my perception of the cafe. It's wonderful and worth your time when you visit...
Read moreOne of the best kept secrets in Lee's Summit for some reason. The staff is always GREAT, along with their coffee's and tea's. They have all kinds of reading material by world renowned writers. And a good selection of common office supplies. Did I mention wind chimes, jackets, shadow-box items.... They have good fresh sandwiches too ! You really need to visit this place. Enter off Colburn road and drive 300 feet, on the left - - is the easiest way to find it. They also have a nice hotel there too. It was the first Green Hotel in the country for a while, a few years ago. Did I mention their nature walking trails. All this ties together at Unity. It is nice, friendly and peaceful.... Except for their weddings - they look fun. Go Visit, you will be surprised +...
