āāā{personal favorite} while its definitely a"nightlife" qualified establishment I'm drawn to the cozy comfortable and you're home "quality" that the ambiance here leaves you with going during lunch time, happy hour, & early evening (pre-clubbing) time. They have a fair amount of "regulars" that come here during these times that are interesting and are like family with the staff and it feels as if you've pop by your house for a drink and a snack instead pulling into a no name bar cause you didn't know where to go. If you looking too stop for a break without the unfamiliar and guarded engaging interactions then this is a must to checkout and see if it fits your cup of tea. Live music on weekends and competently put togeather sports bar theme, when its important. Outside patio and local guest access to wi-fi round out this iconic downtown Upland establishment. It apparent that the cooks (who r fabulous) and wait crew have all been long time employees and the way they work togeather shines thru. Loren & Scotty, my hat's off to you and thanks for "opening up shop" in Upland. You are loved by Uplandnites thru & thru. Spoiler alert and keep this under your hat. Mix a little networking with your downtime?,Lot's of the local who's who...who includes the likes of people of Mark Christopher's Chevrolet to City Hall frequented to a couple of sitting council members too! ....well, maybe that's enough names for one day. Want more ???....GO...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped in last Sunday for lunch. It did not seem busy, there were about 3 or four small groups already there. My daughter and I sat and waited a few minutes before someone came to our table to give us menus and take out drink order. After about 8 or 9 minutes our order was taken. Then it did not take long for out food to be ready I saw the kitchen place out plates on the counter and ring a bell for pick up. I took a while for us to get our food I watch the Kitchen staff look to the waitress several times before ringing the bell again. Our food was good. I was surprised it was still warm. I had the Philly cheesesteak and my daughter had a wet chicken burrito. We could not finish as we had to leave and we had already been there for over an hour. we asked for boxes which came quickly but we waited almost 10 minutes for our check before I finally went to the bar and asked for it. Then while waiting at the bar the waitress walked passed me and tried to return my card and receipt back to to the table. Not sure If I would go back again but i wouldn't minding...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere's a handful of drinking establishments within the Upland Downtown District, but I must say, this is my favorite one. The other bars nearby are geared towards a younger "hey I just turned 21" crowd where you walk in and it's like hanging out with a bunch of rowdy teenagers and usually someone ends up getting in a fight. If that's for you, then check out those other places. JD Allisons is different, though. This is geared for people who have years of experience in the bar scene. It can sometimes be loud and a bit rowdy, but for the most part, it's respectful bar banter. You meet all walks of life here. Also, their kitchen menu is surprisingly good. It's restaurant quality food. I must say I enjoy the ribeye steak along with their appetizers. Their beer selection is vast, along with drafts, bottles, and cocktails. Also, they have live music quite often. Stop by and let the...
