Never knew this place was there. Right by some of my favorite places, Plumbstead Grille, Granny’s Cafe and the Book Garden. Went yesterday. Just in time, as they are closing for the season after today, Sunday 10/17/21. Great ice cream, I tried the brownies s’mores - yum and the soft serve pumpkin was delicious as well. The there was at least 25 people or more sitting around outside eating ice cream. The line was not ridiculously long but there it was getting longer before we got out of the car. They are set up with barricades because they must get extremely crowded. Didn’t take long to get our treats. There was maybe 10 people in front of us.
Nice location plenty of seating and parking. Great 50’s vibe. I’m sure it gets crazy crowded during the summer. Wish we found this years ago. Great place with delicious ice cream. Will definitely be back. Too bad they close early in the season. I think they’re only open for six months. Most people love ice cream all year long. TK’s does...
Read moreTK's is a mystery to me... people love it, and I'm not sure why. There are always long lines, so you would assume they're doing something right. And when given the choice, my daughter always chooses it over the far superior Tootie's ice cream.
But here's the thing... their soft serve ice cream is pretty lousy in my opinion. Its not SOFT! It is literally harder and more dense than than their hard ice cream. I know, this sounds ridiculous, but its true. Its literally spackle. I've snapped spoons off in it. And its not sweet. It's just cold paste. Avoid at all costs.
But on to the positives. The staff is always friendly, they have super small sizes available for the little ones, and their hard ice creams are pretty good. Overall acceptable (depending on what you get), but if you want really good soft serve ice cream, head up the road a few minutes and stop...
Read moreJust the cutest retro ice cream place! And fabulous ice cream. Everyone has their favorite here. Mine is salted caramel nut. Yum! In berry season they have a sundae with real blackberry ice cream with real blackberry topping that they make. Not to be missed, for sure! They sponsor hot rod era cruise nights in the parking lot and you will often see cars of that era stopping by for a cone or sundae. It's a good place to bring your dog and they sell dog ice cream cups. So there are very happy puppies and happy people at the outdoor tables. Very family friendly with nice clean tables and lots of nice parking and a nice clean bathroom. There's a very nice friendly helpful staff who like making you happy with their very high quality ice cream. Don't miss out on taking a picture with your face in the cut out on the sign on the side. A fun and delicious place...
