Disappointed. Didn't even get a chance to try their wines because they were apparently closed for a private event. We went on 10-Dec (Saturday) I asked the woman at the counter if that was even on their website (I checked the website the night before). She said yes. She also said on weekends reservations are recommended, which was a surprise to me. I still don't see this on their website, but I do see: "There is no reservation needed (larger parties please call ahead)" & "The main winery is open for wine tastings and sales 7 days a week". There were other couples leaving like us, looking frustrated.
Went to another spot around the corner, Pinnacle Ridge. One of the couples we saw leaving Boyd's was there and we discussed how the private event wasn't on the website, and we just Googled a local spot. Had a great time regardless.
Boyd's: please update your website.
EDIT: Chris, you have asked me to delete my review, as it's not fair for small businesses. I agree. But as a consumer I think it's only fair to have accurate information on your website. Your website still states reservations over 6 call ahead and the tasting room is open 7 days a week. If your tasting room closes at random, you should have on your website state to call ahead for all parties to ensure the tasting room is open. We drove a half hour to try your wines, so you can imagine how frustrating it was to find it closed. I will delete my review when the website accurately shows updates to the times and needs for reservations, not only for my group (of 3), but for the 2 other couples that we saw getting turned away. We were all frustrated, which I don't think is a good look for...
Read moreThe place was nice donât get me wrong but the old bar tender lady with the short hair and glasses needs to go. She ruined my mood almost the whole night. Iâm 21 and I look young as hell from what Iâve been told, as soon as I went to the bar she spoke to me in a very uncomfortable way almost like I was some 15 year old trying to illegally get my way to buy alcohol. The way she talked to me just pissed me off in general. Then after her finding out I was 21.. a few hours later she saw me play fighting with one of my younger cousins and decides to go up to me and proceeds to say âheâs 13 , youâre 21! â as if Iâm gonna hurt him or something . Making me feel like this old weirdo that wanted to hurt him . She completely ruined my mood and made me mad. She definitely has an attitude problem with first and is clearly old and depressed with her job. Just get rid of her. Also where was the food?? Not to mention there was absolutely no food there which wasnât too pleasing. Seems like a fun place to be just needs a...
Read moreEnjoyed a VIP wine tasting (sampled 10 wines and receive two wine glasses with the wineryâs name at the end). Our server was professional, friendly and helpful. Large selection of wines, including some very unique flavors which I enjoyed sampling. Jalapeño and Whiskey Mead stood out as tasty and unique to me. Really nice atmosphere.
We brought our toddlers as well, so kid-friendly. They also have various board games (which helped keep the toddlers occupied). They have a small food menu with cheese boards, and a few meats. Cheese and cracker board was nice to pair with.
If youâre interested in a wine tasting, make sure to call in advance to confirm they are available to do so (as indicated on their website), as sometimes they book private events. Had a fun experience and...
