I was disappointed in the professionalism from the staff at this restaurant. We came to celebrate as a large group which was planned well in advance.
From the beginning of our service there seemed to be several miscommunications with the staff. Upon arrival it was reminded to the waitresses that we would be having multiple checks which had been approved by the owner, however, the waitress was very upset and carried on with an attitude that this was the case.
The party did get loud at moments, which was stated would likely happen and again was okayed by the owner. After one particular moment a man came over and began screaming at the entire party saying we were too loud only to later find out that it was due to profanity which truly was pretty minimal. If the issue was profanity, it is important to communicate the true issue in a respectful way as yelling and using a different reason is not helpful.
Regardless, the issue is not being asked to quiet down or be respectful to other guests, but rather how the situation was handled. Sending someone out to scream at the party was incredibly rude and disrespectful. It should have been handled in a more professional manner.
Additionally, as I was leaving the bathroom which is near a corridor to the service area for staff I overheard several staff speaking about the party making comments like “Good as long as they leave.” Again, the level of professionalism here is the larger issue at hand. Had the situation been handled professionally instead of screaming and speaking about guests where they can hear you, there would be more respect.
The staff also seemed very flustered serving the party which likely contributed to their attitudes and seemed like a conversation from management about how to handle the party could have been helpful. Communication seemed to be a big breakdown leading to many parties being disappointed.
Overall, the professionalism was the overarching problem as yelling at customers especially it being the first time you confronted them and talking about them was extremely disrespectful and uncalled for. We of course understand businesses must provide a space respectful for all customers and had the approach been respectful and approachable there would have...
Read moreIn 2018 we began previewing venues for our Wedding trying to find the style and location we desired. We came across the Carriage House Restaurant and we knew in our hearts this was our place. We stopped in and spoke with Donna and she laid out to us her plan for our day. Donna’s style was different from other planners we spoke with and after leaving our initial meeting we knew that Donna was the one. She is reliable, responsive, calm, and flexible with all the questions we had. As things happened throughout 2020, we were forced to shift dates and Carriage House Team could not have been more accommodating. With all the guidelines that needed to be in place the restaurant went above and beyond so we could enjoy our big day. Donna answered several of our emails helping us feel at ease with her quick responses and suggestions from experience. The venue space left you speechless, with endless flows of charm and elegance throughout the property, guests were singing praises about the location we chose. Donna and her team worked tirelessly to make us, and our guests feel special on our Wedding Day. Whether it was the rustic wooden ceremony site to the floral garden terrace, all made for breathtaking photos. The food and service were spectacular. The wait staff was attentive, quick to fulfill needs and took exceptional care of our guests. We highly recommend the Carriage House Restaurant if you are looking to host any event. Our experience is one that will never be forgotten, and we look to visit several times especially on our...
Read moreThis place broke my heart… carriage house is a very important place to me and my wife. Every anniversary we had an awesome dinner here, we got married here, it wasn’t perfect but it was to us! Well now it isn’t, I won’t be returning, booked a table for my wife and 14 month old son for Mother’s Day dinner, I was welcomed by a renovated restaurant with three bars, a fourth one incoming, and countless TVs, about 2 feet from my face, it’s obvious this place really cares about its German roots! Not….. Anyway, maybe the food will be good right? I got the chicken alla Rosa the same thing we had for our wedding meal, completely different recipe and tastes nothing like it should, also, chicken is raw, not a little pink, inedible and disgusting! My wife’s veal was definitely off, spoiled or frozen and unseasoned? Idk but it was inedible, at this point my son was done as it had been an hour, so thank you for the memorable Mother’s Day, I must say I regret ever going back! This place broke my heart, also I should mention I never met the owner, or manager, she obviously did not care to even appologize, my server was fantastic and I apologize to her. the old owner was rude, but at least she was authentic!
This place should instantly change its name and cut all ties with the carriage house, it’s a sports bar, where you need to be drunk to find the...
