At first glance, the Palm looks like what could best be described as your typical country dive bar - which it sort of is, but with some pleasant enhancements. The decor in the bar area is unique, there is a quote regarding the love of music overhead as you walk through to the traditional seating. I can't explain the allure of the place exactly, only that it's got that "slowed down" vibe that seems to be lost in a world of 2025 chain bars/gastropubs. Admittedly, I have always been a sucker for places like this - but the Palm did not disappoint. We were a party of 5, my wife, myself, our three kids (12, 7, 3) and while we were the only family with young kids in there at the time (and my 3-year-old was absolutely post-nap second energy wind) nobody seemed to mind. They have a chalkboard with daily soup specials that looked like someone took the time to make fancy. The food was typical of a bar, I wouldn't say it was out of this world (I had the diablo burger) but it was above-average for a bar setting. My daughter had the kids burger which was sort of lack-lustre, my wife had a roast beef sandwich (complete with sides of horseradish and Au Jus) which was not only massive, but "really really good" and let me tell you she's the food critic between us. I liked that the floors are sort of worn, it aided in the atmosphere feeling like your local family pub. Service was great, and that's considering that the bartender was alone, with 6-8 people at the bar, and probably another 12-15 people seated at the table. She was a rock star and absolutely the reason we will be back. I liked this place, a lot -...
Read moreI visited The Palm Tavern last evening to take part in their Wing Eating Contest! Unfortunately I was the only one who showed up to compete. So it was me against the wings!
Each round was 20 of their JUMBO Wings in 5 Minutes! This was not an easy task with how massive and crispy they were! But I managed to get Round 1 and Round 2 done in the 5 minute time limit. On round 3 I just couldn't keep the speed up as I was getting fuller which made it harder to fight through this huge crispy and wings! I ended up getting all but 5 of those down! 55 wings in 15 minutes.
I ended with a beer and a slice of their in house made Peanut Butter Pie! It was sooo delicious! I forgot to take a photo! 📸 But be sure to follow me on YouTube (Josh: The Goat) a video of event will be coming!
From the moment I walked in the staff was sooo helpful and pleasant. The other patrons were all so kind, and were cheering me on! If you're in the general area swing by and try them out!
On Sundays they 50¢ Wings! No better time to try some absolutely...
Read moreHorrible experience is an understatement to say the least. The bartender with the heavy heavy makeup was rude to us during our experience at the tavern . My wife an I felt like we were an inconvenience to her . Her whole attitude towards us was very rude an very inappropriate to say the least. She valued talking to the servers about other guest was way more important then attending to her bar guest. We weren't the only guests that had heard her bad mouthing customers. other guest had informed us that her attitude stinks an they hate having to deal with her. How this person is allowed to interact with any customer is beyond myself an my wife. In my opinion an some of your guest that we had spoken with I would get rid of her. Not to mention the owner was happier hidding upstairs an being miserable an unapproachable then interacting with his patrons at his tavern . In my opinion revamp your staff especially your bartender with the heavy makeup because she is rude an very unapproachable an very...
