I never wanted to have to do this because I love the people and atmosphere . I have been a regular here for almost a year now, coming almost every single day, driving almost a half an hour. The last 1-2 months there has been an extreme decline in the food quality they serve to their costumers. Multiple times feeling sick after leaving. I have never had scrambled eggs look overcooked on the outside and booger like on the inside until this new cook started making the food. Also he is extremely rude, you can hear him complaining from the dining room and slamming things in the back, it makes the walls vibrate. Today my boyfriend got served fried eggs and shredded potatoes, the usual meal he gets, which were supposed to be over easy and they came out with a puddle of uncooked white in the middle of the two eggs and the potatoes were like slop. For the first time EVER we asked them to take back a plate because he wasn’t going to eat it and just cook it a little longer, they brought back the other kind of potatoes and undercooked eggs again. They server (who I love so much, Cheryl) said she wasn’t going to charge us for it because he wasn’t going to eat it and wasn’t going to send it back another time. And the owner basically said either she take the plate away now or we have to pay for the whole thing. So I said charge us for the toast because that’s all he picked at. So she did, but they made her individually charge us for each thing, taking away the egg and potatoes. Except I am the one who got the bacon meal. It ended up making us pay more then it should’ve been, which is no big deal to my pocket, but principle. I am so sad to even be writing this, but after writing on their little “how are we doing” slips they recently put out, there hasn’t really been much change. Extremely disappointed with the extreme...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Powderbourne Sportsman’s Club for breakfast for a long time, and it’s honestly one of my favorite places. The food is always excellent, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the quality makes it worth every penny. That’s why I keep coming back and often bring friends and family with me.
However, during my visit this morning with my brother, we experienced an uncomfortable and unexpected moment. While my brother was paying at the cashier, another customer made an unnecessary comment questioning his T-shirt. It was awkward and completely out of place. We remained polite and respectful, but it was surprising and disappointing to see something like that happen in such a great environment. People should mind their own business—what someone chooses to wear is their own choice, and unless you’re paying for their clothes (which clearly wasn’t the case), it’s not your concern. We go out to enjoy a meal, not to be judged or questioned by strangers. I want to be clear: this review isn’t a complaint about the restaurant or its staff, who have always been wonderful. It’s just a reminder that creating a respectful and comfortable environment also means addressing situations like this when they arise. We love this place and hope moments like that won’t stop others from...
Read moreFirst time trying Powderbourne Restaurant. Ordered a vegetable omelet with home fries and toast with a side of bacon. The omelet and potatoes and toast were very good and the portions are large and filling. The bacon is excellent It is smoked and thick cut and really amazing. Probably the best bacon I have had locally. It wasn't too fatty and it was lean with a great smoky taste. It was delicious. Prices are fair and they have a nice full menu with something for everyone. Nice comfortable tables and a decent sized dining room with ample parking in two lots. If you love good bacon and country home style cooking, this is worth the trip. Looking forward to trying other menu options. Hours are limited but they open early and...
