ok, so 45th wedding anniversary decided to NOT cook. We settled on take out from wu's after reading reviews of chinese restaurants near us. First timers here so this is my review. Pros were easy, online ordering. Order was ready as planned. Food was tasty. Now, the cons. NOT HOT! Not even close to being hot! Warm at best and honestly the celery in my chicken chow mein was cold! Now pickup time was 4:30 and we arrived at 4:25. Order was waiting. It is EXACTLY 4 minutes home. We ate immediately. So no way was this ever hot to begin with. I ordered chicken chow mein combo platter. It could have been vegetable chow mein because I believe there might have only been 4 little pieces of, what I think was chicken. Hard to tell because it was microscopic. Husband had beef and broccoli. tasty, yes. But honestly if they gave either of us a half a cup of rice I would be surprised. Very stingy combos. And I paid for 10 fortune cookies, got 3. So, would I go back? Yes, we will try again. But i will get everything in a pint rather than in combos. But if it is this warm in temperature, then I will not go back. Oh and eggrolls were very good but wonton soup had PIECES of...
Read moreIt pains me to write this because Wu's used to be the best Chinese food in the area. For years I would drive from New Holland weekly to get take out from them. When I moved to Lancaster I would still make the trip. The quality of the food was mostly consistent but a year before covid it went downhill and we started looking for other places. Fast forward to this week and i decided to try Wu's again. They redesigned the restaurant and it looks great. They added sushi as well. I love sushi so i had to try it. The DISAPPOINTMENT.... I have had sushi all around the area and I'm that guy that would eat gas station sushi (yup, not proud) and this was clearly the worst sushi that i have in my life. There was very little wasabi (i love wasabi) and it didn't smell right. It smelled like wet clothing that was left in the washer a couple days. The rolls were prepared nicely but there wasn't a freshness to them. The fish seemed old and mushy, unnaturally warm/hot. No crisp or crunch of the veggies just mush again. It was a struggle to eat this meal. This has been worse sushi i have had...
Read moreFair food at best, horrible service. Ordered food for takeout for a group of friends, was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Not a big order, 4 entrees. Arrived 25 minutes later, and the food was finally brought out 55 minutes after ordering. They appeared to have adequate staff and were not very busy. I asked if they could do something to make the situation right and suddenly their English was not good enough to communicate and they just said "I don't understand". Food quality was fair, all rice containers were 3/4 filled. Spring rolls were tasteless, honey chicken was a lot of batter, little chicken and soggy, all food was warm only. I think the order got lost in back and they didn't care to fix it....
