I tried Mr. Wonton 4 times over a year, desperately wanting it to be my favorite Chinese restaurant because it's so close to my house. AND they deliver with online ordering which is everything! They aren't terrible, let me say that. The cleanliness, service and consistency puts this restaurant miles ahead of most takeout spots in the area. But the food just wasn't great -
The chicken dishes are great, crispy and plenty of sauce. Perfect portion sizes for lunch and dinner and they offer everything you would expect at a similar restaurant. The delivery is a little long but not absurd and everything was hot.
Rice is very plain, lacking eggs, veggies... flavor. The fried goodies were always just slightly soggy - no crunchy egg rolls. The thing that really confused me and everyone I talked into ordered with me, was their noodles! A few friends said they were too oily but all I can taste is peanuts for some reason? Like peanut oil or a hint of peanut butter, it's very odd considering the lo mein is in fact oily and mimics the rice with the plainness.
I wouldn't take this place forever off of my list because of the location and the (very important) cleanliness and convenience, but I don't plan on ordering here again. Truly...
Read moreThis is not a dine in place, even though it says it is on the sign and when I called they claimed to have dine in. However, there is no dine in menu and the menu is different than the menu online. No pu pu platter, no mu shu. We ordered at the counter and told them it was for dine in. We sat at a table, thinking they’d bring drinks. After 15 minutes we asked for our drinks. 80 minutes later we got our food in a to go bag and they handed us styrofoam plates and plastic forks. We ordered bone in spare ribs but got boneless. I just asked for my money back on those since we had already waited so long. They insisted on remaking the ribs, which we got after we had finished eating the meal. The food was definitely not worth the wait. The moo goo gai pan had a really odd taste and the chicken with peanuts was in this thick gross syrup. We ended up throwing most of it away. $50 and 90...
Read moreMr Wonton is always a hit! Family run business with room for improvement. Service here is okay sometimes and so so on other days. I understand they are insanely busy but just saying.... service could be a tad bit better.
Food is okay, tastes unique, authentic and more healthier than your average Chinese restaurant's chow. General tso made a little spicy is nice, shrimp and broccoli is also decent. The fried rice does not have eggs in it which is great but has vegetables. Szchezuan lamb and chicken is wonderfully tasty and you can always have them dial in the spicyness to your comfort level. However if you're feeling a little spicy adventurous that can definitely be accommodated as well.
Food preparation timing and delivery or pickup is always on point, no delays. Pricing is transparent and no surprises here...
