In honor of our one year anniversary, we’re posting a new review with updated photos. This venue is everything that I had ever dreamed about. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and makes you feel like you’re in another world. Everywhere you look are rolling hills, luscious grape leaves blooming about and mountain tops in the distance. We began working with Stony Run at a wonderful wine tasting at the winery down the road from the newest venue. We toured the venue and Larry helped get us situated. Every step of the way we had support from the Stony Run team. They are so accessible and reply in a swift manner. The wedding industry can be tough and often untrustworthy but working with Larry and the Stony Run team made me feel secure and acknowledged. The day of, Larry made sure the venue was cleaned up and everything was in position. For those celebrating their ceremony in a church, you can see Saint Mary’s Catholic Church from the top of the vineyard (the church that we used). Overall, I could not recommend this venue more. The wine educator, Caroline, doesn't just serve you but she guides you through a fun educational tasting. She actually listened to what I liked and by that got me to try some wines I never even heard of like Albarino and Petite Verdo. She's actually a Certified Sommelier so knows her stuff so while teaching us about wines and pairings she also exposed me to knew wines. I bought a few and will be coming back seeking her out. If you want more than just service and unbelievable wines and want an experience, go to Stony Run and ask for Caroline. George, the seasoned sommelier, and his team are fantastic. They’re knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about wine, making the tasting experience enjoyable whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or just starting out. The staff does a great job of offering recommendations based on your tastes, which makes the whole experience feel personal.
The wines are excellent, with a nice variety to choose from. Whether you prefer white or red, there’s something here for everyone.
