I was visiting the Lehigh Valley from NC. Every time I am in the area, I always make sure to stop and get my dark chocolate raisin clusters. When the girl came out from the back, she asked if I knew what I wanted. I told her yes and asked if she had more of the clusters in the back because there wasn’t that many in the case (it ended up being about 3/4lb). She said that there wasn’t any more in the back without even checking. I went looking around the shop and found some that were prepackaged and they were $24/lb. She then came out to find me and said that she had found more. I asked her how much they were out of the case and she said $26/lb. I told her never mind and that I would get the prepackaged ones because it was cheaper to buy them that way, only $2 cheaper per pound but I spent $110 because I knew that they had the best dark chocolate raisin clusters around. Well I got back to NC and opened them up. I couldn’t wait to eat one. It was the worst I had ever had. They were hard as a rock and actually hurt my mouth to try and chew it. I thought maybe it was because they were in the open case, although I had never heard of that happening when chocolate is left open. So I opened one of the prepackaged ones and tried one of those. It was the same way, as if it were frozen. I turned the heat up just in my bedroom to 80 degrees and left they sit overnight. You’d think at that temperature they would even start to melt a little. They were still hard as a rock. I don’t know what happened to these clusters but it was definitely my worse experience ever. They’ll either go in the trash or I’m not sure. I just hate that I...
Read moreAmazing and magical place! Definitely worth stopping in for some ice cream, baked goods, chocolates, or sweets! We came looking for one item and left with two full bags and an ice cream for each of us, and couldn't be happier with how our visit turned out. The little village of buildings had a distinctly classic vibe, with amazing smells wafting from each area as we explored. There were vignettes along the walls with characters showing the process they use to make their sweets and chocolates, and display cases full of figurines of all kinds. There's plenty of seating space, with indoor nooks and outdoor areas to enjoy your treats. The staff were attentive and sensitive to safety standards, and were extremely helpful despite my embarassingly high level of indecisiveness. They were quick to offer suggestions, and quick to move on if that suggestion didn't hit the mark. No pressure at all, only friendly helpful people! We had a fantastic time, and could imagine this being a favorite spot for a family outing or a treat after a day out. Definitely worth checking out just to see the amazing assortment of goodies, and an absolute must for chocolate lovers! This place is an...
Read moreGreat plain vanilla ice cream. 😋 They have ice cream in one area and a bakery in another area (which has a nice shoofly pie). A few of their flavors ice creams are the best in their flavor that I've encountered, listed below:
Shoofly pie: delicious and tastes like a shoofly pie got scattered throughout an ice cream and infused with its sweet essence. You probably wouldn't have guessed the flavor of shoofly is supposed to be... molasses. Because its flavor is unique and might be quite unlike any molasses flavor you've tasted.
Pumpkin: one of the best in my journeys, as pumpkin ice cream elsewhere is typically hit or miss with places, but Premise Maid got it right! The flavor is only seasonal though.
Egg nog: the yummiest so far, as elsewhere egg nog is typically bad or blah at many places, and again Premise Maid got it right, nice and creamy and most importantly it's yum! 😋
I'm seeking and reviewing the best local businesses in every geography, for Localverse (from Bethlehem, PA). Now adding The Shoppes Of Premise Maid to the list!
