I have been in the area for 6+ years but somehow never really went to this side since I moved from north wales - I just drove in that direction whenever. I think last year 1 day morning and ex and I were in that early morning awake all night watching movies etc - fully sleepless but super hungry and adventurous zone so we just went there. Since originally I moved to south Cali - for me Diner and Dennys are synonyms and surprisingly there isnt a Dennys for like nearly atleast 1 hour drive monimum. Anyways long story short, we went there with excitement and frankly to be ready to take risk just in case we dont like it or if we don't fit in. Just little nervous - inspite of early morning place was kinda packed but you can tell by the demeanor of the super friendly staff the extremely nicely who greeted us in and also from a little eavesdropping of other guests conversations with staff and among that- This place is real deal. Has been around for ages, love and sense of community flowing all through and most amazing thing was the aroma of fresh food - toasts, eggs, bacon steam rising from plates as orders coming out for people. Fell in love with presentation, the welcoming cozy atmosphere and such helpful staff that I actually tried new things and glad I did d!! Ingredients do matter that I do not deny but this place is like diamond in the rough and anyone and everyone can tell you that extra taste comes only if whoevervis cooking has real love and passion for what they do. The little I could learn and from the pictures and ambiance of the place one can tell they have been an integral pillar of this little Harleysville close knit community from generations. And I think that's the charm of it and that what defines main streets in America. The tightly bonded family run businesss which put their heart and soul in what they do. I genuinely believe they will be here for a long long time. Food was amazing ofcourse! Call it soul food, food like your mom used to make, any name - gist is the taste was so good. Simplicity in service and helping new customer like us to make food choices! They are an all ace place and highly recommend you to go there once - you will feel connected and you will surely eat more than you thought you couldn... it's that perfect! Thank you Energy Station Team...Keep Rising and raising the bar up. We the community love you guys! Cant wait to...

Stopped a little after 8pm last Saturday. Service was a bit slow and tough to find, for instance when our water glasses needed to be refilled. I had the Veal Schnitzel and the glazed carrots, which were a special side that night. This was pretty good! My wife had the "Angry" Prime Rib Melt. The idea behind it was good, but the prime rib was anything but tender and had a handful of good-sized pieces of gristle, not fat but gristle. She did at least enjoy the garlic spinach that she got with it. But we do not recommend their prime rib.
They close at 9:00; so everyone was going around taking everything they could and cleaning everything about 8:30 - 8:40-ish. Our waitress eventually came by and asked whether we wanted anything else. When we said that we'd like a slice of pie for dessert, she came across a bit miffed. Really?
We went back again this Saturday, this time a little past 5pm. Another couple walked in just ahead of us. We all waited a long while before someone finally came up to seat us. There were plenty of workers around. No one bothered to say that someone would be with us shortly. Everyone just ignored the four of us until the hostess finally showed up.
Service was very slow again. In fact, it took so long for the waiter to finally come take our order that we'd started looking for another place to go instead. I had the Veal Schnitzel again, this time with the garlic roasted green beans which were good. My wife had the Nachos, which were a special. Her nachos were just a handful of chips, with very, very sparse amount of cheese, and a small amount of chicken, half of which was so rubbery that my wife couldn't eat it, and she's not picky at all. There also were some diced tomatoes and sliced jalapeños. And the price for the nachos was $12. When we finally got to talk to the waiter again, we were just about finished with our meal. He said that there had been other similar instances, spoke to the cooks in the back, and was kind enough to remove the nachos from the bill.
We ended up being there quite a while for my wife's not good food. We could see other tables of people getting impatient with the slow service as well.
After these last two experiences we won't...
Read moreHad family in from Ohio and wanted to take them to what "was" my favorite restaurant. I called ahead to try and make a reservation for 7 but was told I couldn't. I still let them know we were coming and would be there around 11am. Get there at 11:05 put our name on the list and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. We agree to a wait because I kept telling my family how good the food was. Fast forward...11:35am I check to see how much longer. They tell us they have a booth but we didn't think it would fit our party so we let the other people behind us have it. I go out, come back in at 12:00pm to check and they said they couldn't seat us yet. Me still wanting my family to eat here, I agree to still wait but ask if they can put tables together, they say they can't. I come back in at least 3 times to check over and over again and a party of 6 comes in behind us and were seated after waiting 5 minutes. When I asked about it I was told "Well you didn't want the booth so..." I got irritated but asked again about putting tables together and was told again that they couldn't, at this point, my family came in to check and I again asked them to be patient but after them also seeing the other party be seated and them having to get back on the road they did not want to wait any longer. So at 12:22pm after waiting for AN HOUR AND 22 MINUTES we left. The restaurant was busy but this was embarrassing and unacceptable. The Butcher and The Barkeep restaurant thats 5 minutes away very kindly accommodated us and gladly accepted our business today and I'll take my out of town guests there...
