2nd update: I have eaten at this restaurant quite a few times and honestly i think the food is not very consistent. Last time my texas steak had a very chewy and low quality piece of meat and chorizo was too salty. The fish taco was very bland and did not have any spice nor lime flavor. The service lacks sometimes and the tables inside does not seem very clean. So i decrease the rating to 4.
Update: Last time I was there the service was very good and we liked the food as well. So I will increae the rating to 5. We sat outside and the view was great.
I like the food here. Camaron (shrimp) encremado is my favorite here, but camaron ala diabla and carne asada are delicious as well. They do not over cook the shrimp and meat and the sauces taste good. The quality of the service has not been consistently good. For example we visited on Saturday night 1.5 hours before their closing time and they seemed to be in a rush and they even started cleaning the restaurant 1 hour before the closing time mentioned on maps. If that happens again I will probably stop visiting this place. If you want to close earlier, that is fine, but please...
Read moreI used to love this place, but it has gone down hill drastically. I can hardly even say the food is fine now. Our chips were stale and the salsa tasted like they spilled salt in it and it was giving me a chemical burn. The other food almost seemed reheated instead of fresh. The veggies were mushy, the meat was dry, and everything is way more salty than it used to be.
As bad as the food was, the service was even worse. We were there for at least 15 min before they took our order, our drinks were empty for most of the meal, and we waited over 20 min when we were done eating before we got the check. We almost left cash on the table and walked out.
Right at the end, the people behind us tried telling their server that they got the wrong food and he argued with them and told them that they were wrong. This place has taken a huge nosedive in the last year or two and I hope they can...
Read moreMy first time trying Casa Del Mar. The restaurant is easy to get to and convenient parking. The minute we were seated we were asked for our drink order. I told the waiter I hadn't had time to even open the menu and didn't know what the drink offerings were. The waiter stoop at the table and waited until we responded. Our drinks were brought promptly long with chips and salsa. The chips arrive cold along with a small portion of salsa. Once we place our order we were asked if we wanted a second beer, which we both did. The water took our beer glasses, one of which still had beer in it and took them back and refilled them. Our main course was ok. The waiter did take our plates without asking and took food one of us was still eating. I was not impressed on my first visit, but always give a place of business 2 trys before making up my mind. I will update once I have tried Casa Del Mar...
