Elm City Coffee — Restaurant in Urbana

Very nice atmosphere. Plenty of room. Good lighting. Baristas clearly are experienced and good at what they do. I appreciate the variety of seating types, though more tables and chairs would help a lot. I most of all enjoy the fact that the music is at a low level, rather than blasting loud as it is at many coffee shops. I hope this place does not change that about the music. It is nice to be able to hear my companion talk, and to be able to concentrate on what I am reading, etc, without obtrusive music hijacking things.. Thank you for bringing your coffee shop to Urbana!

Edit-- Went back on a Saturday, and all the regular seats (chairs, booths, couch) were taken. There are a lot of stools to sit on, but they are extremely uncomfortable. There is space for more tables with regular chairs. I hope they do add more of these. The music was also pretty loud on the Saturday. So excited to have a coffee shop in downtown Urbana! I don’t drink coffee so disregard if that is what you want to know about but their chai is sooo good! They make the concentrate in house which is RARE. The concentrate is not sweetened and then they then add honey to the chai to latte. LOVE THIS. The staff was super friendly and even let me try to concentrate before ordering since I was worried about sweetness.

The cafe has a great space with lots of light and plants. Only recommendation is they need more tables and chairs. I personally don’t like barstools and there is so much space but limited seating. I also hope they get more food in the future! Definitely give this...

I used to love working here, but it's become very unpleasant lately. The workers say disrespectful things about people and customers, they play their music way too loud (and when i ask them to turn it down, they do by one notch and then turn it back up shortly after), they recently burned incense that smelled awful, and I find myself regularly having to leave to finish work at home because the place is becoming a sensory nightmare.
