I would've never thought the best Buffalo Chicken Sandwich I'd ever have was in Ogden Canyon.
Seriously, the food was amazing. My wife and I have lived in the area for almost 4 years as of writing this, but never visited here. Our expectations were pretty low, because we always just told ourselves "There's no way the food at a hotel in the middle of the Canyon could be any good."
My biggest regret was not coming here sooner. Service was amazing, Jeff made sure we were well attended to. Atmosphere is awesome, we sat outside where there are big trees, fire pits, and a Gazzebo. There were also some places to look at the river.
The food stole the show. Jeff mentioned they got a new Chef, Caleb, and both our food was outstanding. If this place doesn't win a "Best of Ogden" award in the next year, I'd be convinced those newspaper awards are rigged.
Fries were great, my only complaint is the parmesan fries were a little too parm-y for my taste.
Overall, very much looking forward to coming back. My wife and I agreed, we're going to make a habit of coming here after skiing or days at Pineview! It's a must stop.
It's worth noting, this place does NOT serve beer, wine, or liquor. Hope that gets added soon, as it would be an amazing spot to have a few cold ones by the river; however, I know those can be hard to...
Read moreWe wanted some breakfast early Sunday morning and found ourselves driving around to a number of closed places. Enter Hermitage, we found our way up the canyon and sat outside on the patio surrounded by trees and cabins listening to the river flow by us. We have 5 boys who can be a little picky with breakfast options and everyone of them asked to come back again next weekend. The serving portions were perfect for us (we do put food away) and the flavors were awesome. The manager who waited on us was so friendly and patient with our kids that we felt like family almost immediately. Very friendly, great food and wonderful atmosphere if you enjoy...
Read moreBeautiful location, quick service, and wonderful food. We loved being able to walk by the river - it feels like an escape, even though you're close to major amenities. The best part, though, was Brenda! She chatted with us and shared the history of the lodge. She was so kind and welcoming - you can tell she really has a heart for the place. We felt very welcomed by her...it was one of those conversations that made you feel uplifted.
Today we just came for brunch, but we will absolutely be booking a room here in the future! Rates are reasonable, breakfast is awesome, and the location is beautiful.
Thanks for a great...
