A Prehistoric Theme with Modern-Day Disappointments: A Review of Moab Giants Cafe The allure of a dinosaur-themed menu drew us into Moab Giants Cafe in Moab, Utah, anticipating a delightful blend of prehistoric charm and tasty offerings. However, the reality was a stark contrast to our expectations. As we stepped in, the absence of their most popular foods, with no resupply in sight, was the first sign of a less than stellar experience awaiting us. The ambiance hinted at a lack of enthusiasm towards creating a welcoming environment, especially for little explorers. Signs scattered across tables and windows seemed to echo apathy rather than the enchanting allure of the Jurassic era we had anticipated. The presence of political propaganda within a dining space cast an uneasy veil over our visit, distancing us from the whimsical dinosaur adventure we had in mind. Interaction with the employees was anything but warm. The unusual charge for condiments, 81 cents for a small cup of fry sauce, felt nickel-and-diming and detracted from the dining experience. The gyro we ordered managed to please our taste buds, albeit its small size left much to be desired. A generous serving of fries accompanied the gyro, but it failed to compensate for the overall lackluster experience. The dinosaur-themed menu, which was the initial draw, turned out to be merely regular offerings disguised under dinosaur names - a missed opportunity to infuse a creative touch to the dining adventure. The cafe's proximity to the park was its only saving grace, offering a convenient albeit underwhelming stopover. In a land where the remnants of the giant lizards stir the imagination, Moab Giants Cafe missed a golden opportunity to extend that wonder into a delightful culinary journey. The experience felt like a hurried pit stop rather than an enjoyable pause in our exploration of the prehistoric marvels of Moab.

If you look at my reviews, I don't usually give low stars, but in this case it's because of the two ladies working that day and the condition of the restaurant. When we walked in there were two women sitting at the high top table using their phones and no one else. I looked around and the restaurant had dirty tables, soda on the floor below the machine and I think, ok, they must be short staffed. So, we're standing there for at least 3 minutes before one of them audibly sighs and gets up. So, I didn't realize the two ladies worked there until that point, we were about to leave. One comes to the counter and is unfriendly (I'm extremely friendly and always smiling so it's hard to be cold to me). I ignore the behavior and try to put myself into her shoes and we both order our food. They don't say anything after we pay (no setting of expectations), just walk off to make the food. So, we go make our drinks and sit down. About 10 minutes later, they motion to me at the table and I think she said the order number (from the receipt), but it wasn't clear. The good news is, the food was pretty good! So, although they weren't really doing their job to the fullest, they delivered on the food. :-) I ordered a Chicken Tenders Basket ($9.99) and he ordered a Caprese Sandwich ($8.99) and we got two fountain drinks ($2.50 each), for a total of $25.86. Was it amazing? No, but it was cooked fresh for us and I appreciate that. :-)

What a surprise, this little cafe attached to the Dinosaur Museum. While the menu board didn’t say anything about dietary options, the most friendly lady operating the cafe said she had gluten free buns for their burgers. And wow, what a fantastic bun (GF can be dry and terrible) and the burger was amazing, best burger we’ve enjoyed in the USA. Businesses that don’t get on board with dietary needs in any international guest destination are loosing customers big time. I highly recommend, keep up the gluten free buns. 🙏

I’ve never seen such bad customer service. I understand it is hard to be short staffed, but you can still be kind and polite. After waiting several minutes for a cashier, I realized there was a sign to ring for service. Even after we rang the bell it took a couple minutes. Then she seemed very annoyed that we were there and even grunted angrily after she walked away to make our order. They would completely ignore people waiting to order. They would look at them and keep doing what they were doing without even an “I’ll be right with you” people would stand there just looking confused. There was no ice in their soda fountain (it is very hot outside) and they sold person after person fountain drinks and then waited for each of them to come back and say your out of ice. Then the cashier said “yeah, I know” and as the person finally started to walk away she said “I can get you some if you want.” If you know it is out…. Why aren’t you filling the cups with ice when you sell them? And then to top it all off there was no carbonation in the soda. Also, the staff seemed to be arguing when we first got there and then wouldn’t look at each other and were acting super tense when near each other. Super uncomfortable. The food was not bad it was just a bad experience because the staff.

I hate leaving bad reviews but people come from so far away to visit this area and we were so excited to have this experience...
