Was told there would be an hour wait and we needed to wait outside in the 100 degree heat in July. Our group was fine with the wait but wanted to take a pitcher of beer outside for the wait. The male owner was extremely rude when we asked and said "when he gets to it". after 5 minutes the female owner asked "are you guys on the waiting list". We replied yes, just waiting to grab some drinks so we can go outside and wait. she replied "if you dont get outside now I'm calling the cops". No lie. No exageration. Who says that to a customer waiting for service.
It was a horrible experience. Every review about the owners being cruel and rude are 100% accurate. We left so we never even experienced the pizza, but no pizza in the world is good enough to allow an owner of a business to talk and treat customers the way these owners do. Being a small mom and pop shop is not an excuse to be a horrible person to others. They need to learn how to interact withs...
Read moreWould have been 1 star, but I'm sentimental - I was coming here since the '70s and been away for a few decades.
Same general ambience after all these years. Same horrible and tiny bathrooms, beer served in mason jars, murky atmosphere and decor. Stuff of my childhood, so that was fine from a sentimental standpoint.
Pizza is completely different. Used to be thin-crust NY style pizza, like you can buy for $2 a slice at any pizzeria in Manhattan right now. Now - not good. I don't know what they're using for the crust, but it's not pizza dough. Toppings are scarce, and they charge $35 per large "specialty" pie.
I could buy a large specialty pie, possibly the best pie in this country, from Frank Pepe here in CT for that price or less.
To summarize - iffy pizza, hugely overpriced, lousy bathrooms. Oh, and the building is also not even remotely accessible to disabled...
Read moreWe were staying @ Lewis & Clark lake September 12-13. Decided to order pizza and was told best pizza in town was Charlie's Pizza House. We ordered two medium pizzas for pickup - a medium pepperoni & a medium combination.
Total for the order came to $37.50 & almost was going to cancel the order as I thought a little expensive for 2 medium pizzas. However, family was hungry. Daughter picked up pizza and pizzas were ready upon her arrival and she brought back to camp.
In my family's opinion, pizzas tasted great; however, the crust were extremely soggy. So soggy that we struggled picking up a piece, even with a spatula. At the end of the day, I failed to see any value for what was paid & should have trusted my instincts and ordered the same pizzas as larges from Casey's and in my opinion would have had more pizza and better quality and 2/3...
