Tastee Treet Drive Inn — Restaurant in Utica South Township

Drove 2 and a half hours just to come eat here from Bellevue, NE and they closed an hour early and would NOT serve food. I pulled up at 8:50pm and this teen girl comes out and we asked if the dining rooms open. She says no were closing in like 20min. We thought, okay, we'll we can order and eat in the car. When she comes to take our order she tells us sorry but we can't serve food tonight because we are closing in like 20min. Here I was hungry as heck because I saved my appetite to eat here and we were 2 and a half hours from home. We had to turn around and find somewhere else to eat on a Friday night. This is ridiculous and if you want to close early then you should change your hours. Your hours sign hanging on the window said 10pm and so does Google. I’ve been going here my whole life for a special treat- and now when I return to visit it’s a must stop. It’s so simple, but there is something perfect about the flavors that make me crave them when I’m away. The corn dogs are delicious, too. The fries are a classic crinkle. The shakes and malt flavors rotate with new ones - plus all the basics. The portion size is actually reasonable so it’ll fill up someone with a smaller appetite. I usually need two tastees or one tastee and one corn dog to fill up with the fries and shake. Also the root beer float is a wonderful side. Great local hang put but food could seriously use an upgrade. I see the words "Drive-In" and I expect burgers. Nope, you can have a loose meat sandwich which is poorly seasoned ground beef on a bun with a pickle and mustard. They have hot dogs, corn dogs ect. My kids had the chili dogs and one asked if the chili was supposed to taste like spaghetti sauce.
