Ella's Top Corral — Restaurant in Valdosta

I was in the drive thru waiting to order before close of business. The 4 cars ahead of me had their orders filled. I pulled up to the speaker before close and waited, as did the 2 other cars behind me. After waiting at the speaker until 2 minutes after close I heard speaking in the background. I tried to get someone to acknowledge me which no one did. Employees were coming out of the side building taking out the trash so I pulled up to the window and sat there until 5:37 when someone came to the window to tell me they were closed. I told the young man that I have been there since before 5:30. He told me they checked the cameras and no one was in the drive thru which was a lie. (I have a time stamped phone call I made in the drive thru before 5:30. He basically told me to have a nice day and if I need to speak with a manager I can call tomorrow at 11 because he just left for the day. I understand y'all close at 5:30 but I was waiting for service at the establishment...

3.5 stars. The staff rushes you to order like I should have known everything about the menu. I don't live here, so I had questions. We ate in the restaurant, but they bagged our food anyway. The burgers were smashed together, and the bacon was not fully cooked. I also ordered the loaded fries, which come with chili, cheese, and bacon. The flavorless chili (it was just ground beef in sauce) overpowered the cheese and bacon. My cheeseburger was good but sloppy. I wished they used trays for those eating in. I think everything would be better if they just slowed down to look at what they were doing. Sometimes quantity isn't better than quality. Best burgers, fries, onion rings and pink lemonade in Valdosta! I have been eating here my entire life. I remember when they had the old wax Top Corral cups and the crushed ice. I have been getting the same meal since I was a kid: Range Burger with Cheese, mayo & mustard, french fries and pink lemonade. Recently I decided to try some of their other items. The chicken sandwich is AMAZING! With extra MAYO!!! Their chicken dinner is delicious too! It's a huge portion..I couldn't even finish it. The strawberry cheesecake turnovers are the perfect ending to one of their meals. I'm making myself so hungry typing this up that I might just go to Top for lunch!!! Give Ella's a try.
