3.5 stars for doing what it offers to do pretty well. Ignore the 5 stars reviews here - pure nonsense.
This is a decent, solid breakfast at a good price in an area where it's hard to find that. With omelettes mostly $9.95 versus 13 and up these days at IHOP etc. you can bring the kids.
But is not modern Napa cooking and ingredients -- for which you'll pay an extra 7 bucks a head eg at Napa General Store if you are willing to drive 20 mins.
But my wife and I have been searching for a traditional breakfast joint for when you wake up hungry on a Sunday, within 30 miles of Vallejo. This has come out tops of a modest group.
The food is good enough for the price but in no way great (are other reviewers eating at the same place?)
They also have donuts in a display case I think they make.
Weakness is the hash browns that to me are pale and mushy and tasteless; and there is no breakfast potato option.
Coffee cups are tiny so you will be chasing refills. Also ceiling air vents dirty.
Also CASH only so bring moolah or the fees on the ATM will destroy the value.
Note to management: the air vents in the ceiling are dirty and surrounded by dirt. 30 mins you could clean...
Read moreI've been coming to this place for a while and what keeps me coming back is the pancakes. You go to other places and you have the generic stack of pancakes which is fluffy and bland; kind of dry. Well these pancakes are one of the best I ever had; so soft and dense. The taste doused in syrup warms your whole body to wake up. Plus for $6 for three it's worth the price.
I also tried the breakfast burrito with chorizo (eggs, chorizo, sour cream, and cheese) with the hash browns on the outside. It was a pretty big burrito; if the hash browns were left inside it probably would be near to exploding, would not be able to handle it. The burrito was super filling and the salsa which came with it was okay, a little spicy.
Everything came out in a timely fashion. The service was okay. . . didn't really check up on us after we received our food and we had to ask them to re-fill a drink. If you're a regular, which I saw a lot of, they really welcome you as if this was your second home. Still, regulars or not keep it the same across the board, make everyone feel welcomed.
I will be returning to Scotty's for the pancakes and to reiterate what others have said CASH ONLY. ^^...
Read moreon december 16th 2014 I had worst experience I had in a long time. to start off let me begin by saying im a waiter myself and a very patient person. I never got a water refill the whole time I was there, I had to refill the coffee myself, my waiter was the owner and when my buddy said he didnt like the food she came back with the same plate he returned and waved it in his face saying "THIS IS OVER EASY! ITS WHAT YOU ORDERED" not only is that disrespectful she talked to my friend like he was retarded. he knows what over easy is. then I told another worker about how we've been treated and she said "well if you want money taken off your bill you have to talk to the manager" I never asked for money!! I ate my food. I pay my way! dont even get me started on the manager being greedy. she would rather take every table and give them bad service then let the other waitresses take any tables that are just standing there. I dont need any handouts im a grown man I just felt like I was mistreated and the manager who is a thin asain lady is...
