Culturally diverse and vibrant Vallejo has more than 26,000 filipino families living, working and being a part of the community in social, cultural, civic and business arenas for years. Many of their notable leaders have not only served as City Council Members but also as cultural ambassadors of our city at Bagio, (sister cities with Vallejo) and Akashi (sister cities with Vallejo).
Recently, now Vice-Chair Verder-Aliga and Mayor Davis were a part of the invited guests of the Mayor of Bagio and represented us well at their city celebrations and parade.
As Vallejo gets ready to celebrate Pista sa Nayon in June, I would request Norma Placido, Chair ... to speak to the citizens of Vallejo on the cultural representation in Bagio and write to the Vallejo Sister Cities Association and Commission the importance of supporting and strengthening the ties + highlight the benefits to both cities because of that.
We have successfully used the Vallejo Center facilities for Participatory Budgeting Assemblies, Expos and Voting Celebrations during 2013-15. I would love to see more Filipinos get involved, especially their youth.
Thank you ! Salaamat!

I'm amazed that the police department wasn't called in to help control this mob from continuing to physically assault the security guard. I tried to intervene and help the guard, but was overwhelmed by the mob and it's intention to...
Read moreI most recently came here for a quince but have previously been here for receptions for events and parties. I believe they have karaoke and dancing on Fridays. It’s a very tight parking lot where they only keep on wide open, I think you should have security for your parties there. They have bathrooms in the foyer and an area for the food in the back. Inside they have circular tables and chairs that can fit a lot of people inside and you can have a huge dance floor too. You can do a lot of the space especially when decorated well. Huge space for events...
