I have been here a few times since they opened. I felt they were way above average initially. Today I stopped in for a beer. The one I wanted was out (the beertender only found out after pulling the handle). Did not even offer me what came out and just threw it away in front of me (a decent amount in the glass), not very considerate and not what I'm used to experiencing when that happens. I ended up getting a different beer than I wanted originally, and it was kind of just ok. I asked if they have a happy hour (I was there at 2:30 PM) and they don't (honestly they need it with some of their prices). I asked to keep my tab open but I wanted to pay with a different card when the time comes. She said that would be fine but then I noticed my card was charged right then and there on my bank's end. I ordered a side of fries and that took a while to come out and when it did the fries were overcooked and not as good as I remembered in the past. If you told me they were frozen store bought fries I would believe it. That's kind of a red flag to me if you can't make fries right. They also used to have all these awesome hot sauces from Plan 9 Alehouse which is also in Escondido. You could just grab them and try them and add them to whatever you were eating. They had at least 10 different ones. They ran out of those and did not care to restock them, now it's just boring ketchup and ranch. I've seen this place go down hill since it opened and I'm not getting the sense that things will improve. Overall this brewery is not worth going out of...
Read moreWalked in on a Sunday around 4pm. Wasn’t particularly busy but nobody greeted us when we came in. We were able to order at the counter right away. I requested a printed receipt but never received one. They gave us a number and we picked a table.
Food took a little longer than expected but arrived well-seasoned. Portion sizes are okay, but the food definitely felt like it was a little on the pricier side.
Service is minimal. They pretty much bring your order out and you’re on your own for the rest. Utensils, condiments, even water, you have to get up to get yourself. Nobody ever came back to ask us how the food came out. I believe in generous tips, but would not have tipped as much as I did had I known what kind of service was provided. Keep that in mind if you are closing your tab right after your order.
Nobody said thanks or bye as we left. Not usually a huge deal, but after everything, it just felt like none of the employees cared.
If you want to get some food, drink, and be left alone, this is the place for you. If you are expecting sit down service, I would go elsewhere. They are pet friendly if you want to bring your dogs along. There is only outdoor seating and it can feel really hot if you’re not sitting near...
Read moreThe wait for food is ridiculous when there's only 2 other tables also waiting on food. A basic classic burger and loaded tots took over 30 minutes to receive and that was after myself and another table went up to ask how much longer it would be. It was misting out, which 90% of their tables are around the outside of their sitting area. It wouldn't be a problem if they had a different tent.
The outside edge seat isn't covered by their tent so I sat there getting wet for the hour we were there. But if they bussed their tables we could have moved to one of the few inner tables.
Though I'm not sure it would matter, because halfway through eating our food, we found out the tent above us collects moisture. It started dripping all of the collected moisture on the tent all over the tables. It went from a drop every minute or so to a constant drip that made us hold our food so it wouldn't get soggy. This was after wiping our table a few times and using all our napkins.
Food was good, but not worth the...
