First I want to say that myself and my husband are both Hispanic so we’re not new to Spanish food lol. Anyways we looked at the reviews for this place and we expected the food to be great. We had high hopes for sure! Now we get our seats outside which was fine, it was evening time and we were the only customers. The “waitress” gave us water. That’s it. No napkins, silverware until we asked. Which again we were still fine at this point. We order our appetizer (calamari). Me and my husband ALWAYS order calamari anywhere we go because we like to try different places. Eating the calamari should’ve been our first sign. It tasted as if it came straight out of a bag from Walmart. Same for the sauce paired with it. My husband wanted to try their lobster and on the menu it says “price varied by pound” which should’ve been our second sign. But again we had high hopes. I ordered the Churassco which is my favorite! But when my food came the steak was burnt. (She didn’t ask me how I wanted it cooked but I definitely didn’t want it burnt lol) My husbands lobster was OVERCOOKED and the food that was stuffed with the lobster was definitely not terrible but wasn’t good either. The rice was more like mashed potatoes. The worst part of it all is that we paid $170 PLUS TIP for probably one of the worst meals we’ve had in PR. Save your time and money coming here, I promise you’re not...
Read moreI and one of my guests got the special of the day... Lobster, Shrimp and Mofongo or Tostones. The Lobster tail was way overcooked and dry, (so much that the Shell was stuck to the lobster meat. The shrimp were also overcooked but not as bad as the lobster. My Mofongo tasted of old oil and seafood. No one from the restaurant came to check on things while we were dining and Having guests with us I did not want create an issue so waited till after to discuss with Management. Big Mistake, since they cleared my plate with 3/4 portion of the Mofongo and the parts of the lobster tail I could not eat. Management said I should have talked with my server... (who never came to check on us) Poorly handled by Management who should have offered some kind of compensation, but could not even offer kind words or apologies. Wish I had taken pictures, but again I did not want to create a scene with our guests there. Ironically as we conversed around the table, the guest mentioned that their lobster was overcooked and dry. As for the other guests dining with us, they ordered chicken and tostones and...
Read moreAt first, we were skeptical about a seafood restaurant not being at a beachfront location. Nevertheless, after so many references, we had to try this one out. The facilities are simple and smaller than usual, but everything else they offer makes up for that aspect. First, the service was excellent. Paola and Crystal were extremely friendly and efficient. They prepared the best Mojito we've ever had. Then, the food. The owner told us he had picked up some live lobsters hours earlier, so we went for it. We were so glad of our choice! Excellent flavor and tenderness. We picked ours stuffed with shrimp and octopus. Wow! No words will make it justice, so we are posting a picture for reference. Definitely local gem that goes beyond everyone's expectations. They do great where it really counts, food...
