Update 6/30: This place is still great and the staff is awesome and friendly. The food and service still hasn't slipped / gone down. Not a typical tex-mex place. It's inspired by food from Guadalajara, Jalisco. So while the dishes may all have familiar names, their preparation and seasoning is all like that from Jalisco. Family and I came originally for breakfast and ordered a few different things in order to all share. It was great. The barbacoa and guisado were both delicious. The corn tortilla was a proper corn tortilla. Not the dry piece of cardboard you find just about everywhere. It almost tasted like flour and had that consistency. The chilaquiles in red salsa were delicious and crispy. We had eggs over medium and they were done just as ordered. Coffee is serv d in cute little ceramic jars. The beans are also done correctly for the region. Properly whipped and cooked. Not too burned and fried. Was so good we ended up coming back for a late lunch / early dinner before leaving town. Did the same thing where we shared a couple plates. Tried the torta loca which had a few different meats in it and the tampiquena which is a nice cut of meat grilled (think fajita). This was cooked perfect. Not overly chewy or tough. Seasoned just with salt and pepper. Also washed this down with am horchata. Not too sweet. Tasted great and refreshing.

Y'all I really don't leave a whole lot of food reviews because I'm married to a chef. With that said, I've never bitten into a taco and started dancing ๐Ÿ’ƒ....until now!!! The barbacoa mini taco was THEE best!! It literally melted in my mouth!! My husband got the birria taco and an enchilada (which was also AMAZING)! Everything was delicious including the chips and refried beans, charro beans, sauces, etc. My son got a burger and a chorizo and egg taco, which was HUGE!! At this point, I'm trying to find reasons to go back to Victoria since we live out of town ๐Ÿ˜‚ this place is a must when in the area!!

Wow food was absolutely delicious. I ordered chicken Fajitas and it was excellent! Food was also really fast. Oh and I love the salsa that comes with the chips. My daughter ordered kids menu - chicken nuggets with fries. And the fries were well fried although nuggets were a little greasy but not bad at all. Now we know where to visit when in Victoria, TX next time

Tried Las Tapatias tonight. Everything was very good although we went pretty basic tonight ordering combo meals, #2 and a #5

They have margaritas now, mix but not over sweet.

Chips were served with a tomatillo salsa and a bean dip - all tasty. Refried beans, very good. Rice boring but fluffy and moist. Beef enchiladas - excellent. Beef crispy tacos too. Tostadas were good. Carne Guisada was tasty and flour tortillas were too. Will be back and try more.

Service was good, restaurant was...
