This place is a local treasure, I can't say enough about how much I liked the entire place. You come in and it's a real step back to yesteryear diners.

Family owned and ran. Everything was excellent, especially the service which is rare these days. They have handmade shakes/malts, classic burgers on the flat top and fries the way they should be, nice and crisp unlike the soggy disappointment you get at chain restaurants. The relish for the burgers is tasty, nice and fresh crisp taste.

Really, this is a fantastic place that are harder and harder to find. The mom and son out front taking orders and sending out food, very pleasant and efficient. The dad was the cook, from what he was efficient but also not sacrificing quality, a good balance rarely done by most places.

My first time here but they treat you like your coming to their home for a meal and the regulars that came in the knew by name.

I'll definitely be back, places like this need to be supported and...

We were very impressed with this bustling burger shop, obviously a local favorite, only minutes off I24. We had been on the road for more than 6 hours, and stopped for food and fuel at a nearby Stuckeys. The server proudly offered us samples of their signature relish and barbecue sauce to complement their delicious and economical burgers, fries and chicken sandwiches. We felt fortunate to get one of the last indoor tables, and were served promptly. We fed a family of 5 for less than $40, and that included chocolate milkshakes, and root beer floats. It was a fun, family place, that apparently has loyal repeat customers; we were there for lunch on a Wednesday They .also have outdoor picnic tables...

Service was slow. Server came to table with no mask When girlfriend asked her to put one on she did not. Took a long time for the food to come and then the order wasn't right. The owner brought the food to the table and she wasn't wearing a mask either. The burgers were very small and not worth the price. When paying for the food the owner tried to tell my girlfriend that the health inspector told then that the grill person didn't need to wear a mask. Even if that is true the woman wasn't at the grill when she was at the table. As a manager of a restaurant in union county that kind of behavior would get us shut down. We...

Hidden gem from another era! They make their own pickle relish from scratch. The owner says they are celebrating 65 years in business. We were driving from Nashville to Springfield, IL and stopped for gas. Were planning to go to Wendy's in Marion, but then I found this place on Google maps. Very glad we stopped here instead! Excellent service, and good burgers and fries. Clean restroom too, which is a good sign for a restaurant. We will be stopping here often when we make trips home to Springfield. If you are really hungry I recommend the triple burger and cheesy fries.
