We visited here twice over Labor Day weekend. Once for breakfast and once for lunch.

The breakfast visit was really good. The pancake sandwich was amazing. Their pancakes were the best I’ve had in a long time. The service was spot on and food came out incredibly fast. The server even offered us a really good tip for a place to kayak and fish nearby.

We returned for lunch and received good service once again. Except for one major detail. I saw that they served bluegill on the menu and was quite excited to order it. Since it’s not a typical menu item and I really like bluegill. When the plate was brought out to me It had several large filets on it. Really large for bluegill. Like larger than the world record sized bluegill filets. When I suggested that that cannot be bluegill I was told yes that is the bluegill and was given the plate. I thought well maybe they mistakenly given me catfish and I could live with that. But, I don’t think it was catfish either. It was a very light whitefish that reminded me of cod. Which I cannot eat. When the server came back I again pointed out that that cannot be bluegill. She apologized and asked if I’d like something else. They quickly made a BLT per my request, and it was tasty. Not sure if there was just confusion from the staff on what these fish on the menu are, or if they’re trying to sell cod and call it bluegill. Hopefully it’s not the later. All in all it was a decent place place to eat. Definitely for...

Charming local restaurant with wonderful service, but the menu is too extensive in my opinion. That being said, this menu format seemed to appeal well to the local community.

Quaint decor that feels cozy and homey. The atmosphere has a delightful bed and breakfast sort of feel.

I thought there was too much variety on the menu and it was overwhelming with a range of choices from southwestern style, traditional home cooking, pizza, Italian, and even stir fry. I appreciated the options, but it seemed over saturated and a little unnecessary. However, they did seem to have many breakfast choices, and we visited in the evening for dinner. Awesome selection of salads.

We ordered a chicken taco salad and a gyro meal with navy bean soup and fries.

The taco salad was amazing - comes in a fried flour tortilla bowl with real sour cream and I enjoyed the black olives.

The gyro pita was a little too salty for my taste, as was the soup. The French fries were good; basic crinkle fries.

We stopped here during a cross country drive from the east to west coast and we wanted to find local favorites. This seemed to be just that. The servers were chatting with groups of locals and there were several families dining.

We saw a waitress pass with some pie; it looked amazing but we didn't save room for dessert. The pies are all homemade and they have a good list to choose from.

Overall a great place to grab a hearty meal with friends and family or to pick up...

My husband and I ate here this evening (around 3 or 4pm). I've ate here in the past, some when it was Dolly's, and a few times since it's been known as Vienna Diner. The food use to be so much better than it is now. Tonight, I was disappointed. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a salad. The cheeseburger was made from actual ground beef, which I was pleased with, but it was dry, not juicy, and it didn't have any flavor. The fries were good. The salad... well, I don't even know why I bother ordering those anymore, because basically what you get is lettuce and a few croutons with a little dressing (I asked for extra ranch and did get it). A salad to me also includes tomatoes and shredded cheese, but I just can't seem to find that anymore unless you pay a hefty price for it, sadly.

My husband did say his eggs, hashbrowns, and gravy was good. so I'm happy he liked his. I've heard their fried chicken is good, and I almost ordered that. I wish I had of ordered the fried chicken.

Our waitress was good. She was friendly and kept up with us and our drinks. No complaints there. :)

Finally, it was time to pay. My husband is a veteran, so I asked about a veterans discount, and we were told sorry, but they don't...

So my Husband & I have been looking for a good Gyro sandwich in for the last two years we've lived in Southern Illinois. Many establishments offer the sandwich but none never lived up to my expectations. We are from Northern Illinois & find it very challenging to be pleased with the food choices down here. I have resolved to stop asking locals if a restaurant has good food because I don't think most people in Southern Illinois have been blessed to be around really delicious food. 🌞 This place met my expectations!!! DELICIOUS 😋. Fresh pita, toasted to perfection! Fresh meat cut from the vertical rotisserie & lightly warmed. Fresh moist feta cheese cubes to crumble myself. Fresh tomato cubes. Fresh onions slices. Fresh delicious homemade Tzatziki sauce. I wish I took a picture but take my word for it! My grandbaby had pancakes 🥞 & sausage combo. she loved every morsel 😆

This diner in Vienna (pronounced VI-ena with the I sounding like 'eye') provided my wife and I a relaxing interlude in the middle of a long drive. It has the typical local diner "look and feel." The staff was friendly. The menu was extensive, everything from down-home to pasta to pizza to burgers to salads. I felt like eating comfort food and ordered the grilled pork tenderloin that came with two sides. I chose potato soup and a salad and those alone could have made my meal had I known ahead of time of the large portions. The pork tenderloin was my least favorite--a bit tough. All around we enjoyed our visit.

The food was really, really good. My Philly Cheese sandwich was huge and worth the money. My baked potato was fresh and not a left over from the day before, like so many I have been given at multiple different places I have been. I despise day old baked potatoes. I will definitely refer family and friends and return to try other menu options. The menu is huge and has so much to choose from. Our waitress was not that attentive. That would be the only negative thing. This place was so much cleaner than it use to be under different management. Was pleasantly surprised.
