Yang Ming — Restaurant in Villa Park

I'd heard of the place and knew had to try it out but it was so darn busy so I picked the early afternoon and it will be repeated I plan to try it's many authentic Chinese cuisine sizzling rice soup I thought I won't get again twenty years gap boy it was sizzling in my ears and then mouth I didn't want to swallow so soon prices are beyond reasonable. Altogether it was everything I expected and then some. See for yourself why wait. Well yesterday I went back and again good food rather excellent food great atmosphere and all but where as last time I had my buddy with me I was alone this time and the Chinese food server lady didn't much care about me taking the whole table I used to both be a server and also a restaurant manager and I knew the situation first I say for s good eternity before she came back to take the order but I patiently dipped the hot tea then she served and disappeared and I had to get up and go to her across the room to order extra rice. The previous time I had tipped fifty percent and this time ten percent ....

I have mixed feelings about Yang Ming. The food they do serve is good, and executed well. My friends in this area love this place, and I don't blame them as it has a nice atmosphere, nice people, and a lot of classic American Chinese food done well. If you enjoy American Chinese food, then Yang Ming is a really great choice. So why not 5 stars? Well, it comes down to personal preference. Simply put, I wouldn't choose American Chinese food if given a choice. Not my style. If friends want to eat here though, I'm happy with it, and I always enjoy myself. It's relaxing, fun, and probably the tastiest American Chinese place I've been to.

They can handle huge groups, and have a lot of professionalism based on my experience with them so far. Actually I've been quite impressed with how they execute and perform with large groups. They have a large cocktail menu and full bar.

Presentation is excellent, and they serve you salad, soup, chips, and sweet and sour sauce, and the food is OK except " Barely Any." My partner and I went for lunch and were very very dissapointed. I heard so much good things about this place but unfortunately we will not go there ever again!. We ordered 4 plates for lunch. We thought we can take some home for my daughter. Unfortunately we left hungry with close to $70 bill. Imagine $70 lunch for 2 people. Unacceptable! For all the work they do with service and presentation if they only add bigger portion, which might cost them $2 more (their cost) would made this a much better experience , i would give them 5 stars, and they would not lose customers. All restaurants blame this scarce in food service to the economy. This is BS. A $2 extra put in a bit bigger portion is not going to break their bank and will get them a lot more customers.
