Papa Jimmy's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Village of Cottage Grove

Edit: After posting the below review we did receive a call from the owner apologizing for the treatment we received and hand delivered a refund check to us, which was greatly appreciated. We aren’t the type of people to make a big deal of things in general, but felt we needed to say something in this situation. We did very much appreciate the owner reaching out to us to try and make things right. Besides this incident, we have enjoyed this restaurant since moving to the area.

Unfortunately, this restaurant has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Me and my husband were insulted by the manager of this place and I have never been treated in such a way my entire life by a place of business. We just tried to order delivery from here. We’ve ordered several times from here and have enjoyed the food.The delivery driver left our food at the wrong apartment building. We got a text and a picture saying the food was delivered but it was not at our apartment. We were told he tried to call us a few times to hand deliver the food, however, our phone never rang. There must have been something wrong with the cell service or something. My husband went to try and find where it was delivered and appears someone took the food off the porch it was delivered to. We called the restaurant to see if we could get a replacement and pick it up ourselves or get a refund. WE WERE ACCUSED OF TRYING TO GET EXTRA FOOD! AND WE WERE REFUSED A REFUND! After going back and forth with the manager he finally agreed to make a replacement meal, but at this point I was so insulted with his accusations I was afraid someone would spit in my food at this point and just ended the conversation. Me and my husband are hard working people. We are always polite to people in the service industry as we both have worked in it previously and understand how people can be. I am a registered nurse and know how difficult people can be sometimes. I was very polite with the manager when initiating the conversation and was just trying to resolve the problem and he immediately cut me off multiple times and was incredibly rude to me as I was trying to explain the situation and what happened. We have supported this restaurant and recommended it to people in the past because we have enjoyed it. We even used them to feed our guests at our baby shower this past June. We will never eat here again and we will tell whoever we can about the awful customer service we received from this place. My level of anger and how insulted I feel personally by the manager of this restaurant is incredible. I highly recommend the owners of this establishment find different management and train their employees on better customer service if they want to keep...

1- Pizza with a side of deception on pricing...(Paying for toppings that aren't there) 2- Also, I Ordered a 14" but it was measured at 13". 2- Middle crust was a soggy mess

So I ive in McFarland and wanted to try a new pizza place. So I Ordered a 14" Supreme pizza. I don't eat sausage and not a fan of olives on pizza, so I replaced sausage with beef, and olives with spinach leaves. The medium pizza ended over $30. I think it was like $31 and some change. After I got the pizza I asked for a receipt because I was trying to understand why it was so much for a Medium pizza. Immediately after asking for the receipt, the guy said "are you wondering why the pizza was expensive?" (As if he already knew that it was kind of shady on how I was charged) and I said yes, exactly... He said well when you replace toppings, it doesn't actually replace the toppings. You get charged as if you were adding more toppings. It's just how the system works he told me. Well Papa Jimmy's, your system sucks, and next time maybe don't sound like you already know it's deceptive, and pull it off like there is nothing you can do other than tell me it's just how the system works. Came here after a long day for some dinner with the girlfriend. The restaurant was basically empty save for one other family eating (Monday night), which made service faster than I expected!

TLDR: 10/10 in all areas, support local and eat quality pizza

The staff were attentive and helpful, it was refreshing to see people younger than me who know how to work hard.

The food was delicious, I probably could have eaten the entire pizza by myself. They have the perfect ratio of sauce, cheese and toppings on a crust that's thin and light enough to really put away slices. Even the thick crust was thinner than most pizza places around, it just makes me want their pizza more 😂 Make sure to get the dine-in special if you can (Lg 1 topping pizza and lg order of breadsticks for $25) their breadsticks are like crack and they use the same dough for their pizza crust...
