To start off with: The wait staff was excellent, the food was good, the kitchen staff promptly resolved a special order, the place was clean with a nice vibe, and overall Big Sky was a decent value. So you’re probably wondering why the mediocre review. It boils down to the bartender. My wife ordered a Magners Cider and I a Smithwicks Irish Red Ale from our waitress. A few minutes later the beers arrive and we take a few sips. The Magnars was a little flat, and the Smithwicks didn’t taste quite right, as it was probably a little under-carbonated. When the waitress stopped by our table, I mentioned that the beer was a bit off and my wife chimed in that it seemed a bit darker than usual. She offered to replace the beer, and I selected a hoppy IPA, so that if the that beer was a little under-carbonated, it would make less of a difference. This should have been the end of the story. But no…

A few minutes later, a gentleman steps up to the table and gets our attention. Is he there to see how our evening is going? Is he there to apologize for the beer? Nope. He starts out by aggressively asking us if we’ve ever had a Smithwicks before? We both state that we have. I explain that the beer seems a bit off, but he’s not listening. He’s telling us that the color is correct and the beer is just fine. We try to interject that it’s not the color that matters - it’s the taste, or lack of carbonation. He’s still not listening. He kept on asking us if we’ve really had Smithwicks before and telling us that we were WRONG. WRONG! He finally left us after telling us that he wasn’t going to charge us for the beer, patting me on my chest as he walked away. It wasn’t really an argument or even a discussion, as neither my wife nor I got in more than a few words.

Here's the funny part… I was wearing a Smithwicks T-Shirt that I bought at the Smithwick’s gift shop in Kilkenny Ireland less than a month ago. So yes, we know what Smithwicks tastes like. I must question whether he really does. When my wife and I got home, we cracked a couple of Smithwicks and enjoyed a taste that we’ve had many...

We went on Saturday because we saw on the website that they had prime rib on Sat. When we got there, we weren't even sure if they were open or just having a private party as there is a large open dining area before you get to where the bar and additional dining is. Nobody greeted is until we got into the bar area. The waitress pointed and said, "there's a table or high top." So we Sat down and she came and handed us menus, asked if we wanted something to drink and proceeded to get our sodas. When she came back, she told us the specials but not what they came with or any prices. So I asked about the prime rib and she said, "oh, that was last week, you missed it." What in the world, what kind of answer is that when it's advertised in the website as a Saturday special. So, I choose the 1/2 rack of Ribs with a baked potato, which you would think is a standard potato choice to go with ribs, nope, $3 upcharge. Hubby had a mushroom swiss with potato salad which he said was good. Anyway, needless to say, we probably won't be back. Maybe you should update your website if it's not accurate and I'd certainly make the entrance a bit more inviting for people who are not regulars...

We stopped at BSC Friday night for a Fish Fry and were very pleased with our experience. We were seated right away so didn’t spend any time in the bar, but the bar was lively, with music and the Brewers game was on. Once at the table we ordered a round of old fashioneds and checked out the menu. Our server was very pleasant and had great recommendations. The drinks were perfectly muddled. The restaurant offered beer battered Cod, bluegill, perch and walleye (pan fried or battered). We went with the perch and it was outstanding. No joke, it was the best fish fry I’ve had in a few years. Generous portions, with fresh rye bread, perfect cole slaw and a choice of potato. We also had a cup of the clam chowder that was tasty. The only complaint was that the potatoes were cut a little large in the soup. If you haven’t been yet, you need to check this place out. I’ve heard the burgers are very good. One person in our party ordered a dinner salad and they said it was really good. The location is little off the beaten path, but still convenient. Go check this place out. I’ll...

I am not coming back ever! The restaurant was clean and well decorated. Candie, our waitress was very nice and fast and efficient! Well done, Candie. Thank you!! But the food was NOT worth the price. The saddest of them all was the blackened chicken alfredo. I HAVE NEVER seen or tasted alfredo so bad! It was literally spaghetti noodles in pasta water with cheap cheese sprinkled on top! Shame!!! Alfredo is a delicious, creamy, rich dish. The sauce is cheesy and creamy and well-seasoned. The plate they made was noodles in pasta water! How can they charge $16 for that!!! The chicken was good. Also, don’t order the pretzel bites unless you are half drunk or something.

Shucks. Wish I could post the picture of their wings they put in the Clipp flyer. They look boiled and no color. Total gross. This has to go through approval at the restaurant level and if they said, "yep. Looks good", I never want to eat wings or ant food within a half mile of that place because they settle for utter bottom bowl. Yuck. You can have your soggy, boiled wings. Ope. There's the photo.
