Mentally, I always assumed this spot was strictly German food. Wasted 5 years of not eating here on that silly thought…..

Great atmosphere. Simple layout…let the food speak for itself. Diverse menu of offerings for anyone to find something for in terms of tastes and price points. Our server Sara was on the ball and didn’t let us feel ignored or how the meal was coming in terms of timing each course.

We all love bacon wrapped water chestnuts and I must say, somehow they found a way to have the bacon crispy yet a tiny bit of pull on each bite without having the water chestnuts give up any of their crunch.

I splurged on the 16oz bone in filet which I find impossible to ever pass up when I encounter it on a menu. Seasoned simply with S&P, cooked to a perfect medium rare as asked for, and so soft and tender you could have cut it with a butter/table knife. Resting in natural juices….each bite was amazing till it was over. Even though it wasn’t paired up on the special, I added a lobster tail because it was a Monday. Super tender and not chewy like you find sometimes. I was giddy like a kid in a candy store.

The roulauden evidently meets with approval as it was said “I’d order this again without even thinking….” So take that how you want.

We split a strawberry Schaum torte was one of the best we have ever had. Height was a pint glass and a half. Crunch of the torte was loud but yet melted in your mouth each bite. The amount of strawberries and whip cream was enough to put me on a sugar overload.

I regret not coming in here before Valentine’s Day. Drove past that sign daily for 5 years. Don’t be like me. Don’t sleep on such a great place with great service and amazing food. I...

WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING FROM GREEN LAKE WI(ABOUT 75 MILES) FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 YEARS TO MEET MY SISTER AND HER HUSBAND HERE TO EAT ABOUT 6 TIMES A YEAR ! WE MET THERE FOR MY SISTERS BIRTHDAY AT 5PM FOR OUR DINNER RESERVATIONS. SAT DOWN RIGHT AWAY ORDERED DRINKS AND APPETIZERS. LATER FINISHED DINNER AND AFTER THAT AFTER DINNER DRINKS. AS USUAL THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD ! AS USUAL I PUT DOWN A LARGE TIP OVER 25%. ABOUT 2 MINUTES LATER THE NEW HOSTESS CAME OVER TO MY SISTER AND PUT HER HAND ON SHOULDER, I THOUGHT SHE WAS WISHING HER A HAPPY BIRTHDAY, I WAS WRONG, SHE WAS ASKING HER TO LEAVE !!! BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE WANTED OUR TABLE. I SAW MY EASY GOING SISTERS LOOK CHANGE FROM VERY HAPPY TO VERY SURPRISED AND VERY UNHAPPY ! JUST WANT MANAGEMENT TO KNOW YOUR HOSTESS THAT WAS WORKING ON THURSDAY 10/27/22 AT 7PM JUST DESTROYED A 20 YEAR RELATIONSHIP WITH 4 OF YOUR MOST LOYAL CUSTOMERS. WE ALL GOT UP AND LEFT PRETTY MUCH IN SHOCK FROM WHAT HAPPENED. PLEASE THANK THE HOSTESS FOR BEING VERY RUDE AND HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PEOPLE SKILLS ! IN LIFE THERE ARE 2 WAYS TO TELL SOME ONE TO LEAVE, ONE WAY THE CUSTOMER IS HAPPY TO HELP AND WILL RETURN AND ONE WAY THE CUSTOMER IS IN SHOCK AND WILL NOT EVER RETURN ! YOUR HOSTESS CHOSE THE 2ND WAY !! I ACTUALLY FEEL BAD TO HAVE TO END THIS LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR RESTAURANT. IN THE PAST MY WIFE AND I HAVE SENT SO MANY PEOPLE TO YOUR PLACE WITH OUR STRONG RECOMMENDATIONS, NOW UNFORTUNATELY YOUR HOSTESS BLUE MADE 4 OF YOUR MOST LOYAL CUSTOMERS FEEL VERY UNAPPRECIATED ! WHEN SHE TURNED MY SISTERS SMILE INTO A FROWN ON HER BIRTHDAY THAT...

We were hoping for great things judging by the reviews. This restaurant is a local favorite and is jammed 5-7PM. Their bar business is huge. The employees were all professional and pleasant and mostly accounted for the stars given. Being seated at 4PM was perfect as at that time no rush. Then within 30 minutes steady flow and the small dining area filled rapidly. Drinks were good. Not cheap. I had a brandy old fashion that was not mulled but OK. Wife's wine was a brand she liked. The bacon wrapped chestnuts appetizers were crisp and very tasty. A Liver Pate was brought to the table with a variety of crackers. I liked the more delicate liver taste. The cheesy cauliflower soup looked and tasted bland. Could have used some type of flavor enhancers. Salt, peppe,r onion perhaps. Bit of carrot for color maybe? I looked at the few 4 german choices but I had a steak special that night that was either a T-bone or Porterhouse (can't remember what they were supposed to be and couldn't tell which) and my wife had salmon. The steak was 1" thick and not seared very well. Served with mushrooms and au jus but still tended to be dry even though ordered medium. Much of the strip side of the steak was tough with gristle. The green beans were OK. My wife thought the salmon was OK but not special. The Busman (always nearby) removed dishes not needed and kept water glasses full. So did the waitress and the greeter. We chose to forgo desert and paid...

This place was great from the moment we came in. The regulars at the bar were so friendly and the bar tender was so great, he was even child friendly:) he made my daughter feel like an adult. Every person helping was kind, helpful happy, and they were nice to each other too. Oh ya we were there to eat. The food was amazing, timed perfect and the waitress even brought out our daughters a tad bit early so we could get her settled before our food came out....genius. My husband hasn't had a T-bone steak he was actually impressed with in a long time, pat yourself on the back chef he even made me try it lol. Such a great experience, thank you guys so much. And to top it off my kiddo got icecream with her meal......life is good.

We had wanted to try the fish fry for a long time and finally made plans to go. I appreciate the fact they take reservations on a Friday, for even 2 people! We both ordered the fish fry, had mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The food was very good. The value for the portion, fantastic. The small dining room did get kind of loud, it was fine for the 2 of us, but if we were going out with another couple to, "catch up," conversation at times would have been a little difficult without having to talk really loud, that said, we will definitely return.
