The Pub Maple Park — Restaurant in Virgil Township

I'm not one to ever write a review for restaurants/bars. But went to this place for the first time last night. I understand it was slammed, but service was absolutely horrible. Waited for close to 30min to get a drink at the bar when we walked in. Then when we walked outside I stood there for a good 30min waiting for a server to come to our table, then I asked a server 2x for a menu and she completely ignored me. Finally got a bus boy to get me a menu. Had to go inside to order food, because once again stood around for about 20min. By the time the bartender came to us, the kitchen had shut down to regular burgers and just bar food. I was fine with this. Asked the bartender if I could get a 13oz patty, she said no only regular. Once again fine with that, I get it. So I ordered a burger with a extra patty with fries with lettuce and tomato, pretty easy I would think. My brother also ordered a burger. So about 20min later I go back up to the bar to grab my food. There was 2 plain burgers with 2 orders of fries. So I ask the server "is this mine and my brothers?" She responds "no, they are yours" I said I ordered a burger with a extra patty and one order of fries, with lettuce and tomato". She takes it back into the kitchen, brings it back consolidated on one plate. I looked at her and said "that's not what I wanted" she responded back "what are you mad about in a very rude tone". So I said "I didn't want to pay for 2 burgers and 2 orders of fries" and walked away. We were with a group of about 15 people and everyone said the same exact thing, service was just god awful. I'm not trying to pick a place apart, but from someone who has bartended in crazy packed bars/restaurants and a wife who bartends in a very busy restaurant/bar. These bartenders just didn't seemed to care and honestly were talking behind the bar and moving as slow as can be. Asked for the price of a drink told her I couldn’t afford it she proceed to pour my drink cause she had already “rang it up”

why isn’t there a fail safe to make the customer not owe you money for something you can’t pay for and there for will not and did not consume.

Like if I never drank it and told you I can’t pay for it why would I owe you money for it? The last time I was in there the same drink I was being charged 5.75$ for I was being charged 9$ for.

So the lady rudely came up and told me I owed her ten dollars for something I didn’t consume the last time I was there so I got irritated and left then she proceeded to walk out the door and tell me I was banned, what’s funny to me is i help the band set up sometimes so I’d expect a little more respect and understanding than that.

Pretty average place. I had the Diablo burger which was nothing special. It wasn't even the slightest bit spicy, even though it came with "diablo dust". They couldn't even bother to put fresh jalapenos on it, just those crappy ones that come pre-packaged in a jar.

The most disappointing factor was they didn't even have a beer menu. I have never been to a bar or pub that doesn't even have a beer menu. When I asked the waitress what kind of hazy IPA's they had, she told me they had anti hero (which is a west coast IPA), some kind of cider, and another random beer. None of which are hazy IPA's. I will say that the onion rings were tasty and the outdoor seating area was nice, but I don't think I'll be returning here.

Lodi Taphouse is right next door, and they have fantastic burgers, and they also have many different tasty beers with a menu so you can actually order something you want. I highly recommend going...
