Edit after owners response: I'm not sure if there is a mistake happening at this location but I had a bottle of the Moscato in my hand, off the shelf at the front where you first walk in and it was also marked as $30. I couldn't justify $60 for 2 bottles in one day so I put it back. My friend bought a bottle to-go and it was also the same price as at the table and subsequently found at Wegmans for 1/4 of the price paid at Mermaid. I'm also not sure what the bottle presentation is supposed to be, but the bottle was simply left on the table, cork popped, in something to make it cold. Not sure why that's worth an extra $20 over the retail price. Like I said originally, I expect to pay a little more, just not triple the *retail* price. Perhaps double or triple the wholesale price, but if you're selling it for $10 to-go like you think you are, perhaps the signage was wrong, and perhaps my friend was accidentally 3 or 4x overcharged for her to-go bottle, then the wholesale price must be significantly less than that and I was really taken for a ride. I understand you're a business and you need to make money to sustain, but this isnt making sense to me. It feels more like being taken advantage of. Edit: Kind of bummed to have found the bottle of Villa Jolanda Moscato, that I paid $30 for at Mermaid Winery, at Wegmans 10 min down the street for $9.49 a bottle. I know were paying for experience at Mermaid, but not more than 3x the price. They also had 8 different flavors available, also for $9.49 a bottle. Excellent food and wine! Daniel was very knowledgeable and friendly and put up with a million questions from our group like a damn champ. Tried the sweet flight and was amazed to find a Pineapple Moscato I've been searching for for a couple years right there!

The food was really good and the service was fantastic but when ketchup packets were brought out for a $22 Bison Burger I was alarmed. Didn't go with the vibe at all. My Lamb Shank was pretty decent but I really wish they had lamb lollipops. And why they cannot make fresh pico at this pricey of a place is astonishing... 10% of the population has an aversion to cilantro. Just step it up to match your prices. *** edited to add *** I tried to offer constructive feedback. I did not realize making pico de gallo fresh was so difficult... Chop some onions, tomatoes, garlic squeeze a little lime... Should be easy peasy. Who knew. Seen it done table side a lot of places and have done it actually myself many times. Is your pico de gallo premade? By the way it should be noted the restaurant was way over staffed for the one table (mine) in the entire establishment at 5 pm on a Sunday. I did not see a "labor shortage" and did not realize your "kitchen could not spare the time." I don't know maybe start making food fresh would bring more business in? I'll lower my standards when dining here based upon your response.

Beautiful atmosphere. Nice lighting. The waitress was nice and very knowledgeable however when she said she’d be back it took quite sometime. I gave 3 stars because they had no scallops and no mussels which are the 2 items that I wanted. I ended up getting the charcuterie board which was simply delicious however I never had one with banana chips. My fiancé had the shrimp and grits…that was very interesting to say the least. In the picture the caviar looking substance are grits. Prior to getting that clarification we sampled it…the taste was that of seaweed. Neither of us could tell what is was. It did not taste like grits at all. I actually thought it was cream seaweed or some spinach experiment. Needless to say we called the waitress over to ask what it was, she explained that it was grits with squid ink…I can appreciate a little exotic factor however when you can’t decipher what a food is that’s pretty bad. He hated it and got a new meal which was the salmon topped with dressed arugula and mashed potatoes. He said it was really good. The wine samples were nice. I love the peach moscato.

Overall this restaurant was an expensive mistake. My husband and I arrived for an 8:30p reservation. The valet was awesome and we were seated quickly. Unfortunately that’s when things started going downhill. We both ordered flights. Our appetizer and entrees came before the flight. The flight pours are also unusually small and should be considered more of a paid tasting. I also tried to order a glass of Chardonnay. They were out of house Chardonnay and the only option was to purchase a bottle which I didn’t want. Around 9:30 I tried to order a carrot cake; however the kitchen had completely shut down although the restaurant doesn’t close until 10. About 7 minutes later the waitress came back to the table to say that the kitchen had reopened because another party placed an order and asked if I still wanted the cake. Ummmm not anymore. We had already paid the bill.
