SaigonOnePho — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

We came in and there was only one couple eating in the restaurant. Server came up to us, I was ready to tell him my drink I wanted and he said “I’m not ready,” then walked away to watch the television. Ten minutes passed and so my friend finally spoke up and told him we’re ready. He looked at one of my guy friends and said “ladies first.” Once he took our orders and left we pondered on what his deal was. I believe over heard us coming back to watch the television and came up to our table once again. He asked my friend “hey, what’s your name??” after my friend told him his name, he proceeded to threaten him by saying, “I’ll see you in the street.” He gave us our drinks then commanded us to pass them out. We got up and left and as we head out the door he yelled “have a good night” with a sarcastic, angry tone. Never going there again. I’ve never been scared of a waiter until now. At least I have an interesting story to tell my friends...

My Mom and I came in tonight for a to go order and ordered what we always order three #174 Lemongrass Chicken and we had three orders. We asked for No Onions. We received the orders and went home. After we got home and opened everything to eat we had two #174 Lemongrass chicken with onions on them and something else which had #76 written on it. So I got back in my truck and came all he way back to the restaurant and told the man behind the counter that I received the wrong order and all the sudden the man started yelling at me and told me I was wrong and that was what my Mom ordered. That is not how a customer should be treated I was in total shock that he would yell and treat me so badly!! I absolutely love the food but I don't think I ever want to talk with that man again he was so incredibly mean!! He needs a lot of training in...

Comfort food in a no nonsense setting

If you haven't been to Saigon 1, go! Go now!! The owners are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience.

First trip we stuck to basics and ordered pho and bahn mi. The broth was flavorful with perfect balance. The bahn mi was moist and crunchy and a lovely blend of salty & sweet.

We were so impressed we went back the next day for lunch and opted for the ginger glazed salmon as well as a rice platter with pork, beef, and shrimp. The pork spring roll was great. Everything was absolutely scrumptious! Midway through the meal the owner brought over a couple of steaming bowls of pho broth that hit the spot and was a very nice added bonus - caring and thoughtful.
