301 Seafood — Restaurant in Virginia

BEWARE-I don’t know what they have going on here because I have been here several times for trout, catfish, crab and shrimp. Honestly the only reason I come here is because they are the closest in the neighborhood. If you are a extreme seafood eater like myself then you will see 301 seafood are extremely overpriced and quality is hit and miss. I believe these 4 and 5 star reviews are from people who either barely eat seafood regularly or they have been coming here so long they probably haven’t tried better places. Recently I sent my daughter here for some trout, she texted me saying they didn’t have trout but they told her they had whitings. Now I have been coming here for a while and I have never got whitings from here. Trout and whitings have its similarities but I do prefer whitings. Well, I couldn’t believe they had whitings so I asked my daughter how much was it, she said $5.99/lb. I told her her 2 lbs. She told me the woman said it was $12.91 with tax, so I told her get a 1/2 lb more then come home. When my daughter came home with the fish I was in complete utterly shock. This was not fresh whiting. Typically when you get fresh fish and it’s filet the tail is still in tack and you see the symmetrical cut in the gut of the fish. This fish didn’t have any tails and not even a little bit of bone in sight. Then it looked like it was cut in half.The fish looked like the whitings that Walmart sell in the blue bag. Never in my life have I been so angry about food. How in the world are you a seafood market and not selling fresh fish. I could have went to Walmart and bout a whole 2-3 lbs for about $9.99. The audacity of 301 seafood to do this. I was mad at my daughter as well for not realizing fresh whiting didn’t look like this. I decided against going there and making a big deal, I proceeded to cook the fish. However, what really bothered me was I paid $17.00 for fish I could have bought at Walmart or food lion for $7.00 less!!! I won’t be returning because at this point, what else are they selling that is not fresh. I don’t know, but I don’t wish...

I just ordered from here for the first time through Seamless and my fish was missing. I called the owner to tell them about it and as I was explaining she kept cutting me off and not letting me talk and then she hung up on me. I called back and she hung up on me again. The food has no seasoning whatsoever and they were extremely rude. They were not interested in correcting my order at all. I was charged for items I didn't receive and all I wanted was to get what I paid for. I will not be ordering from this place again and you shouldn't either. Save your money and go...

301 Seafood reopened about two weeks ago. The staff is still friendly and greets you with a smile. The renovated store seems more spacious, larger than before. The fresh fish area was well stocked, and there were plants of different sizes of shrimp to choose from. I am happy to see them open again because it's really convenient and the service is still great!

Went in for some spiced, steamed shrimp. 301 Seafood had some large shrimp, and that's what we decided to get. They were delicious!! We got home and prepared to feast. Definitely recommend going to...
