I worked with Jagger at Sharper Palate when we were searching for a caterer for our wedding. I also asked a few friends around town who are in the events and wedding industry if Sharper Palate was as good as they seemed, and all of the feedback was overwhelmingly positive; the general feedback was you will get exceptional service and they are pros (and, the food is amazing).

But, my first interaction with Sharper Palate's customer service was with Tina, who handles accounts and payments. She happened to answer the phone that day and had such a kind disposition. She answered my questions and helped ensure my request was received for a follow up call from the catering manager. When Jagger contacted me he was knowledgeable, prepared, and extremely patient considering all of my questions. We had multiple conversations over email and on the phone, and he provided me with two customized quotes out of those conversations.

In the end, the groom and I had to make some tough decisions about our wedding day catering style versus number of guests we could afford to feed but wanted to have at our wedding. We made the tough choice to forgo working with Sharper Palate, but it had everything to do with our own budgeting choices and nothing to do with the value and level of service provided by A Sharper Palate. Compared to other caterers, they were right in line with pricing, but also seemed to have an edge up on the level of service we were going to receive and for a competitive and fair price; the staff they were providing for our event would have ensured quality and efficient service, and compared to other caterers the line item for staff was perfectly reasonable.

Overall, I was so grateful for their time and attention during planning that writing this review was the least I could do since we had to forgo our original catering plan. If you choose A Sharper Palate your event will be well-staffed and you will receive thorough and tailored...

Picking food is a big decision for a wedding and I did tastings at 3 different places total including A Sharper Palate. They were the last tasting I went to and immediately won me over with their exceptional service, professionalism, presentation and quality of food. Truthfully, I almost didn't attend this tasting because it was the only one that cost money (I think $75) but I decided to go for it and it was worth it! They also packed up any leftover food from the tasting and gave it to us to take home which was a great addition especially since we were paying. Kristen was very accommodating and flexible. We switched up menu items a few times and went back and forth but she was always there to answer questions and respond. We loved the food so much that we decided to book them for our rehearsal dinner as well! And we got a discount for booking them for both events. I was also able to come back for a dessert and cake tasting which was extra fun! Kristen and her team were very professional and had overly amazing service during the wedding weekend. She was always present and there for you even before you thought to ask for her. As soon as our first dance was over Kristen was already there placing mine and my husband's food at our seats so it was ready for us to make sure we got to eat. When it came to the food and menu, they were very helpful when it came to dietary restrictions and they also provided kid's meal's for those that needed them! It was a buffet which worked well, and our guests loved the variety. I have never felt compelled to write a review for anything before, but feel an urge to yell from the top of a mountain about our amazing experience with Leslie and her team at A Sharper Palate! We cannot thank Leslie enough for being such an integral part of our wedding. Due to unexpected issues with our original reception site, we were quite late to the game and only reached out to Leslie a mere four weeks before the wedding (Nov 2021, Richmond VA)). She was unfazed and went into action mode. She was proactive, decisive, and an excellent communicator. We worked virtually across different states, but she went well above and beyond her role in countless ways. She not only helped us craft a perfect menu but was instrumental in helping us navigate all rentals on an extremely short timeline. Quite simply, there was nothing that we had to worry about on the day of the wedding – everything went perfectly without the slightest hiccup. We felt so supported by Leslie and were grateful to be able to relax with our guests; we have nothing but positive memories of our day. Her professionalism, attention to details that never would have occurred to us, and overall communication were so incredible, and we will be forever indebted.
