Burgers R Us — Restaurant in Virginia

Update! So we have now eaten here 3 times and it is terribly inconsistent.

3rd visit. I ordered the catfish which came with coleslaw. Catfish was quite good but the coleslaw was spoiled. One taste nearly made me sick. My wife tried it and agreed. Carol had country fried steak which was good.

Considering I have now been served spoiled food here on 2 different occasions I have to drop my review from 4 to 2 stars.

2nd visit. My wife and I ordered the soup bean meal (yes I know only old farts order soup beans at a restaurant). The beans tasted like they were several days old, almost soured.

1st visit... Everything was great. Would have given 5 star but only got 2 slices of fried green tomatoes for my order. That seemed a bit small.

Hamburger was like an old-fashioned burger. Carol had open faced roast beef and liked it very much but would have liked to have had the bread more toasted.

Hot fudge cake 4.5 stars. If it had vanilla bean ice cream it would be 5...

I haven't eaten here in over a year ago. My mom goes next door to the beauty salon for beginners. She gets her toe nails trimmed and it's $3.00 foot so for $12.00 + tip she gets her nails trimmed on both hands and feet. No polish just trimmed. Back to Burgers are us the last time or two we ate there they were having trouble keeping a good cook. The bridge work put a whammy on a lot of businesses down thru there. But when it's hard to get in there it would be hard to pay a good cook a week's wages. I think that they have got someone now because I have been seeing more cars and the bridge will probably be open...

The servers are very nice but for some reason they absolutely refuse to swap out sides even if you offer to pay more. I asked to get my son tater tots instead of fries and the waitress came back and told me the boss wouldn't allow that. Honestly it made me feel unwelcome and that they don't care about customers. Who won't do something as simple as that? I ended up having to order a 3 year old a adult portion of food to get tater tots. I also heard them refuse a guy a side salad instead of one the listed sides. Again, staff is nice but if you can't even get what you want then what's the...
