Today, Saturday at 6:53 PM I had the worst experience in the Carlile restaurant from two people and a bit of a run in with the door lady. Upon crossing the street from the Paramount to the Carlisle restaurant as we approach the door, they were five people waiting. We got in line. I step forward to ask how long the wait would be the lady at the door said she could see me right now. I informed her that these people have been waiting and I'm not wanting to cut in front of them, I just wanna know how long the weight it's going to be at that point. The lady said we're leaving. This is ridiculous so the party of three left that left the other gentleman and his wife which we stuck up a conversation with they were from out of town and we're going to see Buddy Guy at the Paramont, which is where we were going also, we decided to sit together in the restaurant however we ended up at the bar four seats from them I told the waitress small gal about 5 feet tall blonde hair that I wanted to buy drinks for my friends down on the other end and she said we don't do that here I said interesting, so I left it alone. My partner ordered a drink with vodka, gin, and rum, which she didn't like he made the complaint that is very little alcohol in it, and it takes like Sprite the manager happened to be at the east end of the bar dealing with another two people who were unhappy with the long wait as soon as he finished with them, my partner asked for a different drink do the fact that there was very little alcohol. In the first one. The manager took a straw, tasted the drink, as if what he was saying, wasn't true and then told him it's not supposed to taste like alcohol at that point I chimed in and said I'll tell you what just make him another drink at that point the five foot tall blonde waitress waitress chimed in with a snide attitude, remark saying I made that drink right and I said excuse me we're trying to figure this out over here and the manager told me not to talk to her like but it made no point to reprimand her for the snide remark with attitude, at that point I pretty much had enough and told him to bring another drink, which is what you should've did in the first place and we wouldn't be having this conversation my partner took a sip of the drink a second time to double check the quality and the manager said oh you like it, my partner repeated no I don't , at which the manager said I'm gonna have to charge you for that now. I said we're done here. I'm not gonna wait for my food. We're leaving. He said oh you have food. I said not now after this experience, so I got up went to our two new friends. Explain what had happened and why we were leaving and they said that waitresses is not making the drinks quite right ours don't taste right either. It's funny how you drink something for 10 years and you can tell when it's off nevertheless we left. We enjoyed the show and all my years of going to the Carlisle. I never expected something like this to happen the semi bald manager with the I know better than you attitude who couldn't fix a simple drink issue turned into something that it didn't need to be. I've got another performance. We're going to see at the Paramount and I'll have five friends with me with me I want to take to the Carlile before the show. I just hope I don't have to deal with the same people. Ps. I've described the people in this disappointing complaint due to the fact that I feel this was highly racially motivated by the waitress and the manager. racism is a learn behavior and was very noticeable. It's hard to fix, but it is possible if we all work together to get rid of this type of hatred.

Read moreMy niece had planned a surprise 25th anniversary party for her parents on 2/24/2024 at the Carlyle for approximately 30 people. She had made reservations for 7PM and the restaurant changed the reservation to 8:30. Guest began arriving at 8:10 and we were told that we would have to wait until 8:30 to be seated. No problem. We were not seated until 9PM. There were 3-4 guests who were handicapped and our assigned tables were upstairs. They told us we could use the elevator and were lead by a staff person to the far end of the restaurant, through the kitchen, and down a short hall to the elevator. Once upstairs, we had to walk across the restaurant to the other side of the building and still had to go up 2-3 steps to our tables. One guest was in a rollator and she had to get 2 men to assist her up those steps while another man carried her rollator. Our orders weren’t taken until 9:30! Our food arrived 30 minutes later. There was only 1 waiter assigned to our tables and we had to ask management for another. When the food finally arrived it was very tasty, but by this time it was much too late at night to enjoy the full meal so most of us took our’s home. Our assigned tables were in the same area, but not arranged together so the 30 guests could mingle with one another. We were ALL very disappointed in the service at the Carlyle! Since they closed at 11:00, we felt rushed through our dinner and we had to take our dessert (which my niece supplied) home. Needless to say, I doubt if we will ever return to The Carlyle, especially for a party. As far as I’m concerned, the spirit of our joyous occasion was stolen by the lack of service by...
Read moreI usually do not write reviews with restaurants, but my experience with the Carlyle last night was a hot mess. I tried to be understanding in most situations, granite yesterday was Valentine’s Day and I booked my reservation a week prior. I was nervous about having a late reservation, but I figured that most people would try to get in early And then the evening time will be less busy. I was completely wrong, my family and I had a reservation for three and it was set for 9:30pm.The hostage did inform us that they were running behind and there was going to be a 30 minute wait, I didn’t mind waiting because I’ve been to this restaurant several times before and never had a bad experience, which was why I wanted to go there in the first place. But that 30 minutes turned into 45- 50 minutes of waiting just to be seated. Granite given that yesterday was a holiday and everyone apparently had the same idea to go to Carlyle’s. By the time we got seated, they were sold out of pretty much everything, we didn’t end up getting our food until 11:21 PM. My daughter fell asleep before she could even eat her dinner and our waiter was overwhelmed. The manager did come and ask us how our experience was and I wish I would have expressed all of this in person, but I was just ready to leave. I’m not sure if I will be returning in the near future, but I hope that Carlyle’s Will come up with a better booking system. Most restaurants have a cut off, for these specific reasons. They should not have accepted so many reservations being that it was a holiday and the restaurant can not contain that...
