Chester's Chicken — Restaurant in Virginia

I just had the worst experience ever with a disgruntled employee at the Cheaters Fried Chicken restaurant inside of the Loves Truck Stop off of I 81. A cook/cashier named Heather decides to get and attitude because I asked for a large order of Gizzards. She proceeded to tell me that she didn't have any. I asked could she cook some and I'll wait, but no she tried to indicate to me that they didn't have any (which I figured was untrue). I inquired further about the Gizzards and she proceeds to tell me that arguing with her (Heather) wasn't going to make her prepare any. I never argued, and after being accused of creating chaos, I ask to speak to her manager. On her way to get the manager, she call me an "Ol Bastard". I've never gone through anything like this. The manager comes out and I started telling Heathers manager everything, needless to say, I was made to feel like the bad guy in this whole situation. As a truck driver, we are destined to only have available to us restaurants at Truck Stops. This is the Loves Truck Stop off of I 81 and if I can help it, I'll never stop here again. It's bad when one person can change your whole perception of an establishment such Cheaters Fried Chicken. I love the food, but not the attitude when spending my hard earn money.

If I could give lower rating I would. Could only taste over cooked and soaked in grease, could not taste chicken. The colorful person who very rudely assisted us was handling food without gloves, and did not let us ask a question. The grease was old and not sure if it was changed in the past week or not. The employees of this company do not take pride in their work nor the dining area of the restaurant. Of my 60+ years of traveling by far this is the worst place I have stopped to eat by far. Food was pretty good. Chicken tender was hot and tasty, mac and cheese was ok--nothing special. Strawberry pie was really good! I was concerned with the grill cook behind the counter. He was cooking with gloves on, came to the register and handled money, got some supplies out of a cardboard box on the floor and went back to cooking all with the SAME PAIR OF GLOVES ON. Yuck. The manager (I think) came out of the back to handle extra customers to prevent a long wait, so that was nice. I'll go back if I'm passing through again. The menu is pretty plain but sometimes it's just the right thing. ...
