City Lights of China — Restaurant in Virginia

I rarely order food for delivery. I gave three stars because it wasn't gross but it also was not good. I will not order again. I ordered a family combo special which listed on the menu at $12.95 for delivery or take-out. They added $5 for delivery, plus a 20% tip. I got the Hunan chicken, a spring roll and wonton soup. The soup was fine, dumplings very good. The spring roll was disgusting and I threw it away. It was complete mush. I decided to try something I've never had, Hunan chicken. I would never order it again based on this experience. It had a chili pepper next to it, but it was SO bland. I'm sensitive to spice, so for me to say it was bland is an understatement. There was a lot of chicken which was not overcooked, broccoli, bamboo shoots, mushroom and carrots. The veggies were crunchy and fine. But the overall taste was just NOTHING. I don't eat rice, but it looked fine. So disappointing since I rarely eat out or get food for delivery. 80%...

This is the worst Chinese Food I’ve ever had. House Special Soup was light water with yellow food coloring. Not one Won Ton in it. Egg Rolls tasted as if they had been freezer burned and then fried in old used oil. I took 3-4 bites and threw the rest plus the second in the trash. My husband ordered the crispy beef. This had been my go-to Chinese location for decades, but now it seems there are problems which are insurmountable for them, more than a bad night in the kitchen or a lost delivery person.

Last night my steam dumplings were undercooked to the point of inedibility, my spring rolls were of a much lower quality tasting like cardboard, and our beef and chicken on a stick were horribly over-cooked. They looked like an animal on the spit in the Wall of Voodoo video.
