This Famous Anthony's is OK at Brookside 6499 Williamson Rd. Not bad but not great either. I have stopped in a few times alone and ate on my lunch breaks and I took my girlfriend here a couple times. On my last visit I was with my girlfriend. When the waitress sat my food down in front of me she said "here ya go, little man". Now i've been called a lot of things. But never " little man". Feel free to call me "man" but don't add the little part. When the waitress put the food down in front of my girlfriend it was the same thing for her except she said "lady". The waitress said "here ya go, little lady". Saying "little lady" wasn't too bad but the way she called me "little man" made me feel like she was being condescending to us and made me feel uncomfortable. I would rather be called "sir" or even "buddy" rather than "little man". Little man sounds like you're talking to a child. Not a grown man. My girlfriend said hearing her call me "little man" made her uncomfortable too. The food is OK.. . I'll give you fair warning. Never order the chicken salad or the tuna salad. The chicken salad had grizzle in it and the tuna salad looks watery and unappetizing. My girlfriend enjoyed the Chili taco salad but that's about all she enjoyed. My philly steak sandwich wasn't too bad but the fries were too brown and tasted overcooked. The philly did have a little bit of grizzle stuff in it and a few bites were hard to chew. I really dislike stuff that tastes grizzly and has grizzle in it. I will probably pass this place up next time.
Also, upon paying for my ticket and leaving, I overheard an employee talking to another employee trash talking a female customer who had just left. One employee said to the other "I should post her picture on social media and bash her for being stupid". Evidently that lady had said something to the employee that made them mad. They were probably joking about posting the ladies picture on social media (i doubt they even have her picture) but if I were the management and I was reading this review, i would check my employee's social media accounts just to make sure they aren't bashing nobody. Can't be too careful now days. Some people...
Read moreI am writing, not so much about Brookside, but the person who replied to me a couple of months ago, when I had unusually bad food at Brookside, and especially the macaroni salad, which was awful (I knew it was not what Jimmy makes). She apologized, asked me to send her my home address, and was to send me a gift card. I have yet to receive it, and I never heard another word about it. My fiance and I are very regular customers at Brookside, and I am disappointed that this was not "followed-up." This is a second review dated March 8, 2019. It looks like I never had a reply to the one above. Today my husband and I had lunch at the Brookside Famous Anthony's, which is always our favorite with several favorite servers and hostesses. This was the second time in about a week that I ordered a baked potato with my chili, only to find it to be"old" and brown and not fresh. Both times I asked for a fresh potato only to be told they are put in the oven at 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. This is unacceptable, as they should be fresh at all times. For some reason, the "Kitchen" is not doing to outstanding job that they have always done. Food comes out and is not hot enough, mistakes in orders, and unacceptable baked potatoes. My husband and I will continue to come to this location, but I would really like to see some of these problems corrected. Thank you, Lynn Ellen McCutchen Meredith
For some reason, I never saw the Vice President's reply, and Jimmy never mentioned a gift card. Please try again to reach out to me. Thanks,...
Read moreWe came for a specific server. Literally choose this restaurant for this server. We were told that we could not sit in her section. We looked: She was waiting on One table. Her section was almost empty. We asked if she could serve our table in the section where we were seated. We were told No. We got an other server. We've had him before. Oh he's friendly. But that's about all.
We ordered the special: All you can eat shrimp. All of us did. When the first orders came out, some had slaw, some did not. Some had cocktail sauce, some did not. Every order had Something wrong. Every one. Again. This happened last time. We asked for round 2, shrimp, when the orders arrived, (again, we've been down this road here before) It took forever. Round three even longer.
While we were waiting for the final round of shrimp, an older guy dressed as wait staff started running a very loud vacuum. (Not the quiet little sweeper that they have) Then he and another waitress stood in the middle of the floor chatting and then vacuuming another nearby booth. No, it was Not closing time. We were Not "just hanging out". We were Waiting on Food.
The French fries were under cooked. Some of the shrimp were as well. We had to get up and go get some of our sauces.
As a general rule I like Anthony's. I generally like their food. We usually like this Anthony's. But... Don't go on a Friday Night. And Don't order the Friday night All you can eat shrimp special. Oh and Don't sit in the far back...
