Update 8/14/2025 I’ve ordered from Formosa again to try and give them a second chance. And boy did they deliver ! The food was nice and hairy just like I didn’t order !! Then when I called and explained my situation about the fact that I was leaving for work and this was my first meal of the day. They told me to just return the food whenever I had a time for a refund so they wanted me to hold onto this food for whoever knows how long and bring it back to them. Health department and osha needs to pay them a visit
Unfortunately Formosa was my go to place but after very bad business on their end from their answering services they lost me as a customer and someone who always told people about Formosa. They promised delivery in 20-30 mins after a hour I called and cancelled my order, about 10 mins later the driver calls to let me know he will be pulling up with my food and if I still want it (acknowledging he knows I cancelled my order) I said no I want my money back I’m not even hungry anymore, my food was probably cold, he leaves. It is now 6 days later and they still haven’t refunded my money. Very bad...
Read moreMy two favorite Chinese places in the area closed. One due to buyout (and the new ownership have ruined it), the other closed indefinitely due to fire damage from a neighboring restaurant. So decided to give this a try mainly due to how close it is.
I have only gotten the kung pao and egg rolls so I can't comment on everything. The egg rolls are really good. Hot, crispy, and not soaked in grease.
The kung pao is decent. They at least do it correctly.... That is chicken, peanuts, and sauce. I can't stand those places that pack kung pao full of little vegetables. If I weren't exposed to my other favorite places I would give this one higher marks. It was a good meal though.
I do like their fried rice. It isn't that deep fried grease pit rice you get at most, but it's lightly colored and fried just enough so it isn't all dried out. It also seemed fluffy as in not soaked down.
Prices were good for what I got. The large kung pao, fried rice, and pair of egg rolls only ran me $11 and some change.
I'd be interested trying some of their other items. At the very least this place seems to be growing on me...
Read moreNormally we have a good experience with Formosa and I would give it 4-5 stars. Very tasty food! I’m giving 3 stars because the last few times we’ve ordered, items have been missing or incorrect. We even tried to make it easier by ordering online where the choices are very clear (type of rice you want with dish, spice level, etc) but even with that, the last order we got contained things that we couldn’t eat (we ordered brown rice with our entrees but they sent fried rice with egg), the spice level on a spicy dish was mild when we asked for some extra heat, and it was missing the one thing my kid eats. Although I will say they do respond quickly if you call them, we just hit that point where we don’t want to have to do that each time we order anymore. Something has happened with this place and the attention to detail just isn’t...
