Glory Days Grill — Restaurant in Virginia

This place was amazing prior to the pandemic! We use to be weekly regulars. They knew my family. Then the staff changed out. A couple of months ago we came here and our server was all over the place and not in a good way. He took down our order, our app was wrong. Ok no big deal, but then we never got the correct one. ok whatever. Then when out meals came out, my son received the wrong burger. He still wanted to eat it so, ok again no big deal. My youngest received her meal, and I received mine. However, my middle child didnt receive hers. He stated that it would be out shortly but "grilled shrimp takes longer to cook." (I in fact know it does not) 10 mins goes by and I ask about her meal and he says they're working on it it's just shrimp takes a long time. (I refuse to eat until all the children have their food) So I try and wait it out (my daughter didnt want to eat my food or my other daughters) another 10 goes by and I ask to speak to a manager, as the manager comes over, her food is arriving. Clearly her food was never put in, I would have appreciated it much more if the truth was just told. I spoke with the manager about everything. And he did comp some items which i did appreciate. He showed me the new ticket. When I went to give my card to my server, he charged me for the non-comped ticket. so I had to be refunded. Also I would like to point out they were not busy.

Even after all of that I wanted to give it another chance. We really like this place. About three weeks ago we came in there for an early dinner. NOT busy at all we were sat instantly! About 3-4 mins go by no one greeted us to take a drink order- ok no big deal, maybe they were short staffed. So I started to pay attention to the time. Edit/update: recived a generic response from the management to "send an email" to describe what happened? I think what I mentioned here was self-explanatory.

Email was sent with a follow-up email and still no response.

Stay away and not recommended. I'll take my business elsewhere 👍

I had a very bad experience today at this branch over at Falls Church, VA.

I was able to get a seat fairly quickly as they weren't busy (other than a group in the back)

I sat at the bar and the bar tender asked me what I would like to drink and that's all she did. I wasn't offered a menu or anything not by her or the older other waiter with glasses and a white shirt.

Another customer arrived after me and he was served a drink and a menu later on.

I sat there for 45 minutes waiting to be offered a menu. I understand they might have been busy but that doesn't mean I get neglected.

Finally I had to ask to settle my bill for my drink so that I could leave.

The same bartender who served my drink earlier came up with an angry demeanor asking if I was the "one" who wanted to pay.

I told the bartender that I came in here to eat and you (she) didn't offer me a menu. She just said in the least flattering manner "oh I'm sorry" turned her back and walked away after leaving me with the bill.

Essentially it comes down to racial profiling and they didn't want to serve me. Why else was the other customer who arrived after me served first and I was treated this way.

UPDATE: changing my review to 5 stars. The manager Bill was very prompt to responding to my initial review. Decided to give it another shot & went in with the fam. (By surprise so it wouldn’t be any different). Our waitress Ruth was very kind & her service was 10/10. The food was delicious. Glory Wings were good as always. Tried their fried shrimp tonight & it was perfect!

This Glory Days was my absolute favorite location in the entire dmv. I come here quite often with my family. We’ve done bday parties, family gatherings, take out, dine in we loved the food & the customer service. However, I do feel that the past few months the food quality and service has gone down. Tonight was honestly the cherry on top.. it wasn’t busy at all as usual yet the service was very slow. Our waitress took a long time to come & get our payment. Then the power went out… which had their system reset.. we waited 15-20mins just standing up doing nothing as we waited for our cards back. The glory wings were good per usual, my glory burger lacked sauce & flavor. the kids menu definitely needs tastier food options. their butter pasta was really dry & didn’t even have the taste of butter.
